This course gives you an overview of basic principles of yoga therapy along with yogic understanding of health and disease.You will understand the cause, symptoms, types, investigation, and management methods of Diabetes. This course provides a detailed overview of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Stress plays a significant role in the manifestation of Diabetes Mellitus. An integrated approach to Yoga therapy in the management of Diabetes Mellitus along with stress management and yogic counselling will be discussed. Course also includes the detailed practical sessions where You will learn IAYT for type 1 and type 2 DM. Loosening exercises, breathing exercises, asana, bandha, kriyas and pranayama techniques beneficial in DM will be highlighted in the practical sessions of the course.
Intended audience:
This course is not for patients with diabetes, this is for yoga teachers and yoga learners to enhance their knowledge and skill in Yoga Therapy.

Dr. Amit Singh has completed a professional degree in BAMS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, India, and MD (Y&R), Ph.D(Yoga) from  S-VYASA University,  Bangalore, India.

He is faculty member at VaYU (Vivekananda Yoga University), USA. He is an IYA (Indian Yoga Association) life-member and VAP (Viswa Ayurveda Parishad) member. He has more than 10 years of experience in treating patients suffering from major non-communicable disorders through Ayurveda &Yoga Therapy.

He has published more than 50 research papers in peer reviewed international journals in the field of integrative yoga research including some contributions for textbook of Allergy for the clinicians, Colorado, USA: CRC Press. He has been invited as speaker for many national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars, also providing guidance to PG & PhD scholars in their research.

Dr Vidyashree has completed her BAMS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences  (RGUHS), Bengaluru, India, and her MSc in Yoga from SVYASA Deemed to be University. 
She is a specialist in the field of Ayurveda and Yoga. She has 7 years of experience in treating various lifestyle disorders through integrated approach of yoga therapy, Ayurveda, and diet. 
She also has experience in teaching and research, in the field of integrated medicine and has published research papers in peer-reviewed journals. She is working in the field of yoga and cerebral haemodynamics and cognition in type 2 diabetes mellitus. 

Course certificate

Grading Policy:

There will be (a) Internal Assessment and (b) Final Exam.


Weightage:

Internal Assessment: This will carry 30% weightage. MCQs for all the Weeks 
Final Exam: This will carry 70% weightage.  The final exam will have questions from all the weeks.
Passing Marks:

You will be eligible for a certificate only if you score a minimum of 50% in the Internal Assessment and a minimum of 50% in the Final Exam. 


Final Examination:

Type of exam: Computer-based proctored exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency
Exam Center: You will have to appear at the allotted exam centre and take the exam in person. (You can find the final allotted exam centre details in the admit card (hall ticket)).
Admit Card: You can download the Admit card (Hall ticket) around one week before the exam. 
QP Pattern: All the questions will be in the format of MCQs.
