This course gives you a complete knowledge on the complications of Diabetes Mellitus, its yogic understanding and management. Knowledge about Madhumeha-the ayurvedic perspective of the Diabetes mellitus will be presented. The cause, symptoms, types, investigation, and management of Complications of the Diabetes will be discussed. Role of kriyas, psycho-neuro-immunology of the Diabetes mellitus will be focused on. Importance of management of Integrated approach of Yoga therapy (IAYT) in management and prevention of complications of Diabetes Mellitus and also the Gestational diabetes will be discussed. Furthermore, Yoga for diabetes mellitus in the geriatric population and the coexistence of diabetes mellitus and hypertension will also be highlighted. Additionally, the course includes practical session that imparts knowledge about IAYT and how it can be used to manage complications associated with diabetes mellitus. In this course, you will learn various loosening exercises, asanas, pranayamas, kriyas and bandas that can be beneficial in managing complications associated with diabetes mellitus through yoga. This course also includes the practice of glucose metabolism meditation for improvement of the blood glucose level. 

Intended audience: 
This course is not for patients with diabetes, this is for yoga teachers and yoga learners to enhance their knowledge and skill in Yoga Therapy.

Ramesh M N have been involved in academic research from past 14 years. 
Starting in the field of plant tissue culture during my MSc, Ramesh M N moved into the field of immunology. 
Working as Research assistant in one of the reputed medical school in India Ramesh M N published two papers (J Psychosom Res.(2007) Jul; 63(1):65-9; Clin Rheumatol.(2003) 22(4-5): 268-70).
After these initial research experiences Ramesh M N started my PhD with Max Planck fellowship in Germany. 
Ramesh M N published four papers (Nucleic Acids Res. (2007) 35(18):6330-7; EMBO Rep. (2006)7(7): 710-5; J Mol Biol. (2003)331(2):331-44; one more submitted to EMBO rep) and also gained international exposure in research.
He has also published several other articles in the field of yoga and Diabetes. 

Dr Amit Kumar Singh

Dr. Amit Singh has completed a professional degree in BAMS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, India, and MD (Y&R), Ph.D(Yoga) from  S-VYASA University,  Bangalore, India.

He is faculty member at VaYU (Vivekananda Yoga University), USA. He is an IYA (Indian Yoga Association) life-member and VAP (Viswa Ayurveda Parishad) member. He has more than 10 years of experience in treating patients suffering from major non-communicable disorders through Ayurveda &Yoga Therapy.

He has published more than 50 research papers in peer reviewed international journals in the field of integrative yoga research including some contributions for textbook of Allergy for the clinicians, Colorado, USA: CRC Press. He has been invited as speaker for many national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars, also providing guidance to PG & PhD scholars in their research.

Dr Vidyashree M 
Assistant professor and medical officer,

Dr Vidyashree has completed her BAMS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, India, and her MSc in Yoga from SVYASA Deemed to be University. 
She is a specialist in the field of Ayurveda and Yoga. She has 7 years of experience in treating various lifestyle disorders through integrated approach of yoga therapy, Ayurveda, and diet. 
She also has experience in teaching and research, in the field of integrated medicine and has published research papers in peer-reviewed journals. She is working in the field of yoga and cerebral hemodynamics and cognition in type 2 diabetes mellitus. 


Course certificate

Grading Policy:

There will be (a) Internal Assessment and (b) Final Exam.


Weightage:

Internal Assessment: This will carry 30% weightage. MCQs for all the Weeks 
Final Exam: This will carry 70% weightage.  The final exam will have questions from all the weeks.
Passing Marks:

You will be eligible for a certificate only if you score a minimum of 50% in the Internal Assessment and a minimum of 50% in the Final Exam. 


Final Examination:

Type of exam: Computer-based proctored exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency
Exam Center: You will have to appear at the allotted exam centre and take the exam in person. (You can find the final allotted exam centre details in the admit card (hall ticket)).
Admit Card: You can download the Admit card (Hall ticket) around one week before the exam. 
QP Pattern: All the questions will be in the format of MCQs.
