This course gives you an overview of what is coronary artery disease (CAD) and the role of Yoga as secondary prevention and effective adjunct therapy in preventing repeated cardiac events and death in people with established Coronary artery disease. This session also covers the prevalence, incidence, pathophysiology, stress, the basic concept of yoga in understanding the disease process, the mechanism of actions of yoga, and techniques of yoga specifically for Coronary artery disease patients. We will also cover the growing evidence suggesting the beneficial effects of yoga on CAD.

Dr B R Ramakrishna 

He is a Vice-chancellor of S-VYASA Yoga University, Prashanthi Kuteeram, Bangalore. He is a distinguished and eminent speaker with more than 40 years of experience in the  Integrative Medicine Practice (Ayurveda, Modern System of Medicine, Yoga & Naturopathy) and also has 20 years of research experience including both UG & PG studies. He is a role model for all health care practitioners in the field of Integrative Medicine. He has been Awarded Gold Medal & Karnataka State Award for topping the University. He has conducted Ayurveda & Yoga Workshops at Germany, Austria, Spain, Switzerland, Hong Kong, China, France, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Guided PG Dissertations, PhD Thesis, Published Papers, written scientific papers and delivered Lectures on the topics of Ayurveda & Yoga at National and International levels.

Dr Vasudev Vaidya 

DR. VASUDEVA.VAIDYA,BAMS,MSC(YOGA),MBA,(Phd-Yoga).
He is a Deputy Medical Superitendendent - SushruthaAyurvedic Medical College& Hospital and an Administrative Officer in AROGYADHAMA- 300 BEDED Integrated hospital, Prashanti kuteeram. He is also a Consultant Yoga therapist - AthreyaArogyadhama Therapy yoga Centre and a successful Ayurveda Physician in Udaya clinic. He has numerous publications published in reputed Journals. Few published papers include Prakruti-specific Yoga Practices for promotion of positive health (2022), management of COVID 19 IN the perceptive of Charaka Samhita- a concept paper (2021), Prakruti and Genetics (2020), and so on.  He got a Best oral presentation award at an international conference on Alternative Medicine CONFERENCE 2012, Bangalore.Successfully designed a personality questionnaire based on Tridosha. Completed research project on validating the personality questionnaire on 300 subjects.

Dr Ranjitha R
 
She is a specialist in Yoga and Naturopathy with an experience of 4 years. She has completed her BNYS, MD (Yoga Therapy) from  SVYASA University. She is the Physician in charge of the Dept. of Psychiatry at Arogyadhama Holistic health care center. She has expertise in treating many patients with lifestyle illnesses through a holistic approach. Also conducts numerous counseling sessions for various psychiatric patients. Currently working as an Assistant Professor at SVYASA university. 


Course certificate

Grading Policy:

There will be (a) Internal Assessment and (b) Final Exam.


Weightage:

Internal Assessment: This will carry 30% weightage. MCQs for all the Weeks 

Final Exam: This will carry 70% weightage.  The final exam will have questions from all the weeks.


Passing Marks:

You will be eligible for a certificate only if you score a minimum of 50% in the Internal Assessment and a minimum of 50% in the Final Exam. 


Final Examination:

Type of exam: Computer-based proctored exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency

Exam Center: You will have to appear at the allotted exam centre and take the exam in person. (You can find the final allotted exam center details in the admit card (hall ticket)).

Admit Card: You can download the Admit card (Hall ticket) around one week before the exam. 

QP Pattern: All the questions will be in the format of MCQs.
