The process of unprecedented global transformation in the past few decades has entailed threats to Prosperity, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development. The Online Refresher Course is geared to deliberate on policies and programmes, while adding new perspectives to contemporary issues. Undoubtedly, through our video lectures and E-Content, the course shall offer fresh insights and a meaningful and enriching experience to all the participants.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

The objective of this course is threefold: 1. updating the subject knowledge- theoretical and practical   2. upgrading the skills of imparting it 3. obtaining greater insights into the institutional framework of policy implementation as well as the dynamics of the new world order.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This is a free of cost, online Refresher Course for Economics faculty from higher education institutions.As per MHRD UGC, this will be treated equivalent to face-to-face Refresher Course in Economics under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) of UGC.Researchers & students  from India and abroad can also join the course for enrichment &learning.

PREREQUISITES 

The participants should have knowledge of economic concepts and  be interested in keeping pace with the ever changing economic environment and its associated economic policies.

Instructor bio




Dr Mallika Kumar is a senior faculty at SRCC, with a teaching experience of 28 years. She is the Coordinator for the Office of International Programmes at SRCC and Coordinator for Cultural Council, University of Delhi. 

As the coordinator of SRCC Office of International Programmes she has initiated: SRCC USA India Initiative (SUII), 2016; Global Millennium Summit (GMS) 2017; SRCC-OIP India Nepal Initiative 2019. She has convened the International Conference with Niti Aayog on Empowering Women (EWFEIS), July16-17,2018 at IIC, New Delhi with representation from across the Globe.

Mallika completed the Professional Development Course at Harvard University on ‘Managing yourself and leading others’. She has been a member of UNDP Microfinance Solution Exchange. 

With a Ph.D. in Financial Cooperatives , JMI, New Delhi and with areas of specialization as Micro Finance and Financial Cooperatives, Mallika’s work has emphasized on the Rural Financial Cooperatives at National, State, District & Local level in India, a comparative analysis of Cooperatives in Indian and in the Global context. She has presented research papers and delivered lectures on Cooperatives and Financial Inclusion, Sustainability & Cooperative Business Model in International Conferences and workshops in different parts of the world.

Mallika is associated with Saksham, a society that work for visually impaired. In her free time, she likes to play Sitar. 

She’s a facilitator, a connector, and an encourager who believes that with positivity and passion anything is possible.

Course certificate

This is a 16 weeks, 40 hours course, delivered through the SWAYAM portal of MHRD. It includes 20 hours of Video Lectures, 20 hours of E-Content, Discussion Forum and Evaluation. Relevant reference material and links will be provided online along with the sessions. Successful completion of the course will include viewing of all presentations, participation in the discussions as and when mentioned and clearing of the end of the course examination which will earn certification for the higher education faculty in the discipline of  Economics under the CAS scheme.
