In pursuance of the philosophy that Refresher Courses should focus on personal and professional growth of teachers of Institutions of Higher Learning the current Refresher Course in Urdu is designed to provide the faculty members an exposure about the latest developments in the frontiers of knowledge in the subjects spanning the field of Urdu. Also it will focus on certain aspects of research methodology pedagogy for managing the class room environment.

Prof. Zia Ur Rehman Siddiqui is a distinguished critic, eminent Urdu scholar of repute.

He Published 18 books in Urdu including, English and Hindi, he has also published Urdu, Hindi Dictionary

He is engaged in teaching and research for the last 25 years and completed three major project assigned by MHRD.

He worked as Urdu faculty member in several Universities such as Delhi University, Jamia Milia Islamia , Punjab University, Chandigarh and IGNOU also. He has been selected through UPSC New Delhi and posted as principal at different Centre of Central Institute of Indian Languages, MHRD , Prof. Siddiqui worked as Urdu Translator and Interpreter to Governor of Himachal Pradesh and also served as Deputy Director at Urdu Academy, A.M.U.,

Presently he has been working as Professor and Academic secretary in Urdu of Department, A.M.U., Aligarh.
