Philosophy is a part of everyday life and we use it to give reasons & explain logically about things and Events that happens every day. Philosophy is The Study of Existence, Study of Knowledge , Study of Behavior , Study of Governance & Study of Art.Participants will be able to learn how to describe theories, principles, and concepts representing a wide range of the history of philosophy. Based on the objective, the course is divided into three parts 

1. Indian Philosophy  

In context of Indian Philosophy it is the journey from Adhiboot to Adhyatam experiencing this materialistic world on the basis of various aspects such as Vedanta, Nayaya, Shankhya, etc

2. Western Philosophy

Western philosophy is principally based on reason in which why , who and whom are answered with reason which is  making it scientific and outward looking.
Western Philosophy is studied in this course in comparison to Indian Philosophical concepts like Realism, Idealism, Knowledge, Metaphysics etc.

3. Feminism

It has many different views as per individual.  Feminism term thinks in both ways  which is intellectual commitment and a political movement that seeks justice for women and the end of sexism in all forms.  We include both Indian Feminist & Western Feminist

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

  • Participants will be able to learn how to describe theories, principles, and concepts representing a wide range of the history of philosophy.
  • Applications of the Philosophical fundamentals in novel scenarios.
  • Analyses of philosophical arguments logically and critically.

Dr.Shafali Nagpal

National Resource Center - Philosophy B.P.S. Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat Haryana
Dr. Shafali Nagpal is a skilled educator with strong, decisive and established teaching style. She is Doctorate in International Business with more than eighteen years of teaching and administrative experience. She is involved in developing innovative practices in enhancing quality and administration of higher professional education. Having adequate experience in teaching, educational administration and allied logistics. She has served at various positions in university as Founder-Director of University Placement And Counseling Cell, Coordinator-NAAC and is University Counselor and member of various committees. Presently she is serving as Director I/C-Human Resource Development Centre, Chairperson of Department of Hotel Management, Director UPACC, Associate Dean Student Welfare at BPSMV.
With her strong leadership, communication, student and institutional advocacy skills, she has organized more than eighty faculty development programs and conferences for the teachers in Higher Education and more than eighty skills, personality development, training and placements programs for the rural women students. She has affiliations with many prestigious associations and has been serving on advisory board and editorial review panel for National and International journals. She has to her credit three books published with national and International publishers and various research papers in national and international journals of repute. She has contributed and delivered more than 200 papers, guest lectures in conferences, seminars and faculty development programs and coordinated two papers “International Business Operations” and “Development of Management Thoughts, Principles and Types in E-PG Pathshala (A project of MHRD). She has developed and written twenty nine modules in E-PG Pathshala.
She has been honoured with various awards like Guru Droonacharya Award (2018) by Shri Narayan Saanskritik Chetna Nyas, Prestigious President Award by Indian Hospitality Congress (2015) for distinguished contribution in field of hospitality management, Teacher’s Excellence Award (2014) by Confederation of Education Excellence conferred by Padam Bhushan, Prof. Yash Pal and Distinguished Service Award (2008) by SBM Group of Institutions.
She works with a vision of making a difference in the life of women and contributing her bit in making better life for them and their families.

Course certificate

The Course contains two types of assessments i.e Internal and External. Internal Assessment weightage 30% and will be available weekly. The External examination is conducted by external agency for 70% weightage. The Certificate will be issued by the External Agency after successful completion of Course.
