WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

The objective of this course is threefold: 1. updating the subject knowledge- theoretical and practical   2. upgrading the skills of imparting it 3. obtaining greater insights into the institutional framework of policy implementation as well as the dynamics of the new world order.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This is a free of cost, online Refresher Course for Economics faculty from higher education institutions.As per Ministry of Education UGC, this will be treated equivalent to face-to-face Refresher Course in Economics under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) of UGC.Researchers & students  from India and abroad can also join the course for enrichment &learning.

PREREQUISITES 

The participants should have knowledge of economic concepts and  be interested in keeping pace with the ever changing economic environment and its associated economic policies.

Instructor bio

Dr. Mallika Kumar

Shri Ram College of Commerce
Dr. Mallika Kumar is Associate Professor for Economics at SRCC. She is the Coordinator for the Office of International Programmes at SRCC,Coordinator for Cultural Council, University of Delhi and Chief Coordinator,FICCI Global Youth Entrepreneurship and Industry Connect 2020.  She completed the Professional Development Course at Harvard University on ‘Managing yourself and leading other’. She has been a member of UNDP Microfinance Solution Exchange and  a Member of the Committee for London School of Economics India Summit 2016 and 2017,curated by Difficult Dialogue and The LSE South Asia Centre. Recently nominated to represent India as Member, International Cooperative Alliance-Asia Pacific(ICA-AP) Committee on Cooperatives in Educational Institutions(ICEI) and Member,Foreign Student Registry( FSR),University of Delhi. With a teaching experience of 29 years, her area of specialization include Micro Finance and Financial Cooperatives. She received her Ph.d from JMI, New Delhi and her work has emphasized on the Rural Financial Cooperatives at National, State, District and Local level in India, a comparative analysis of Cooperatives in Indian and in the  Global context.She has presented research papers and delivered lectures on Cooperatives and Financial Inclusion, Sustainability and Cooperative Business Model in International Conferences and workshops  in different parts og the world , to name a few- Beijing ,Paris, The Netherland, Nepal, Bangkok, Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia, Srilank,NewYork,Wisconsin,Michigan(USA)and the United Kingdom. She is associated with Saksham, a society that work for visually impaired and plays Sitar in her free time. She’s a facilitator, connector, and encourager who believes with passion and positivity anything is possible.

Course certificate

This is a 16 weeks, 40 hours course, delivered through the SWAYAM portal of Ministry of Education. It includes 20 hours of Video Lectures, 20 hours of E-Content, Discussion Forum and Evaluation. Relevant reference material and links will be provided online along with the sessions. Successful completion of the course will include viewing of all presentations, participation in the discussions as and when mentioned and clearing of the end of the course examination which will earn certification for the higher education faculty in the discipline of  Economics under the CAS scheme.
