The Course studies the role of different political ideologies and their impact in politics. Each Ideology is critically studied in its historical context. In course of its evolution and development, the different streams and subtle nuances within each ideology, the changes and continuities in its doctrine and its relevance to contemporary times are highlighted.

Objectives of the course:
- Study close link between an idea and its actual realization in public policy needs to be explained as well
- Philosophical basis of the ideologies is emphasized with special emphasis on key thinkers and
  their theoretical formulations
- Legacy of all the major ideologies is to be critically assessed

Dr. Wahida Shaikh
Currently working as HOD at Political Science Department, Abeda Inamdar Sr. College, Pune. Her academic qualification is M.A. and Ph.D in Political Science. She has 19 years of experience into academics and 15 years into research. She has received Best Teacher Award from D.Y.Patil Deemed University in 2016. She has built strong and enduring relationships. She has been the most popular faculty among her colleagues and students. Till date she has written Nine text books for various courses under SPPU viz., B.A and M.A. She has to her credit 50 research papers published at various international national and state level.
