This course cover information on various biomass resources availability and its suitability for different energy conversion. In brief this course impart knowledge and techniques for converting various biomass feedstock into different energy forms by lectures and vitual lab modules.

Instructor bio

Prof.(Dr.) K. Arunkumar

Central University of Kerala
Dr. K. Arunkumar is a Professor & Head in the department of Plant Science, Central University of Kerala. Received Ph.D at Centre for Advanced studies in Botany, University of Madras. After brief stints as a Plant physiology scientist (1997-1999) at Rubber Research Institute of India (Tura, Meghalaya), he entered into teaching in the year 1999. His main interest is in the field of diversity, biology and biochemistry of algae with special focus on bioactive compounds and energy. He has published over 52 research papers in reputed SCI journals, contributed 7 book chapters and one book by receiving 6 extramural research projects with the grant of more than 116.3 lakhs. He organized four national conferences and attended/presented more than 120 national and international conferences in his 20 years service. Besides teaching M.Sc, he is guiding scholars for the award of Ph.D in plant science.
