This course 'Performing Arts & Allied Subjects' is designed to fully engage students in the study and participation of Multiple Branches of Performing arts. Students will also be introduced to history, craft of acting through the performance of improvisation, monologues, scenes and fundamental elements of Music and Dance. The fundamental elements of staging a Play (Set Design, Lighting & Sound, Costume, Make-up & Role of the Director /Producer) will be addressed. Students will explore understanding of the History of Theatre, Dance Forms & Music.


The course will be 3 credits and be cover in 8 weeks.


Course Objectives


1.     Apply different approaches in making teaching learning process effective and interesting.

2.     To give a base in Dance, Music and Theatre and composite sense of Art.

3.     To enable recognition and growth opportunities in field of Dance/Music/Theatre

The course is free to learn. Interested Learners can enroll and learn the course for free. If You wish to get certified on this course you must register and write the proctored exam after payment of exam fee. The exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in various exam centres across India. Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 6 assignments out of the total 8 assignments given in the course. Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100  Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score  YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.  Exam pattern: Computer Based Test (CBT) 50 MCQs  Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup. It will be e-verifiable at nptel.ac.in/noc.  Only the e-certificate will be made available.
