This course highlights the role of education in the holistic development of the society and also concentrates in promoting social equality & social justice through the basis of educational sociology.

Dr Jonas Richard A

Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous) Bangalore
Dr Jonas Richard A comes with 23+ years of experience with the unique combination of Teaching, Training, Practice and Research in the area of Sociology and Social Work. Dr Jonas has completed more than 20 research projects & consultancy assignments for corporates, international and domestic development organizations and educational institutions. 

He has conducted more than 250 training programs for Teachers, Students Parents, Corporate employees and Army personnel. As a CSR Consultant, he assists corporates in redefining their CSR initiatives through effective relationships with communities. He also conducts need and impact assessments to ensure the successful implementation of CSR programs. His expertise in building linkages with corporate and government departments for community empowerment is highly appreciated.
 
With his Action Research expertise, Dr Jonas helps NGOs in facilitating action research for creating more evidence-based social work practice in the communities. His educational qualifications include MSW (HRM), M.Sc. (Psychology), MPhil (Psychology) & PhD in the area of Life Skills Education. His PhD work on Life Skills using a quasi-experimental design with pre-post analysis is widely appreciated.

Dr Jonas has published many research articles, authored books and written chapters in books. Currently Dr Jonas is the Professor and Head in the departments of Sociology & Social Work and the Director of the Centre for Life Skills Education. He is also the Director of the Centre for Continuing Professional Development in addition to being the Coordinator for the United Nations Academic Impact Hub for SDG 1 at Kristu Jayanti College (Autonomous) Bangalore 

Course certificate

Assessment/Assignment marks will be considered for Internal Marks and will carry 30 percent for overall Result.

End Term Exam- will have 100 questions and will carry 70 percent of overall Result.

*All students, who obtain 40% marks in in-course assessment and 40% marks in end-term proctored exam separately, will be eligible for certificate and credit transfer.
