Psychology, which is a study of human behaviour has wide applications in all spheres of life. It is a highly applicable body of knowledge in clinical settings, industries, educational settings and even in everyday life situations. This course is a basic introduction to psychology, its sub fields, and to important mental processes such as perception, learning, thinking, and memory. We have tried to supplement each of these concepts with real life examples and small exercises and activities to engage the student.

Instructor bio

Dr. Megha Deuskar

Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune
Dr. Megha Deuskar has a Masters Degree with Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. from Pune University. Since 2005 she has been teaching at the Post Graduate section of the Department of Psychology, Fergusson College, Pune. She also serves as a Ph.D. guide at the Department of Psychology, Savitribai Phule Pune University. She has more than 35 publications in National and International journals and has completed the Indian Adaptation of the book “Personality Psychology” by Larsen and Buss. For the last 13 years she coordinates the Post Graduate Certificate Course in Counseling Psychology in Fergusson College, Pune. 

Course certificate

Dear Learners,
For getting the certificate and credits, you are required to attempt a minimum of 5 weekly assessments and appear for the end course proctored examination in person. The announcement of the proctored examination will be done separately in due course of time.

The Swayam Board considers marks for best of 5 assessments. You have to secure a minimum of 40% marks average in all the assessments to be eligible for the end course proctored examination. 

The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only). Announcement will be made when the registration form is open for registrations.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE
Average assignment score = 30% of average of best 5 assessments out of the total assessments given in the course.
Exam score = 70% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=12/30 AND EXAM SCORE >= 28/70. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.
