The course “MENTAL HEALTH & ADJUSTMENT” is an Elective Course in B.A Honors in Education as well in B.Ed/ M.Ed under the Choice Based Credit System (CBSE). The course has been meticulously designed so that the students will have a basic understanding of the subject (e.g., factual knowledge, methods, principles, generalizations, and theories). The objectives of this course are to develop knowledge, understanding and some basic skills regarding maintenance of mental hygiene. The target audience will develop an understanding regarding:
Mental Health & Adjustment.
The dynamics of human behavior, human development & human personality from a life adjustment approach.
Adjustment issues of various special groups.
Stress dynamics & Management.
Copying Strategies & some Therapeutic Interventions.

Bilqees Aslam Shah

Bilqees Aslam Shah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Higher Education, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, Srinagar. She is presently posted at Government College for Women, MA Road, Srinagar, a constituent college of Cluster University, Srinagar. She has been teaching various PG and UG Courses in the department since last 10 years including Psychological Foundation of Education, Special Groups and their Counselling, Mental Hygiene and Measurement and Evaluation. She obtained M.Ed and M.A. degrees from the University of Kashmir. She has qualified State Level Teaching Eligibility Test (SET) in 2013 and also qualified UGC-National Eligibility Test for Lectureship in 2013. She has been awarded UGC-Junior Research Fellowship in the year 2015. She has published many research papers in the reputed journals and attended many national and international conferences. She has worked as subject expert of many e-contents for UG Course and MOOCs developed under MHRD. 

Course certificate

30 Marks will be allocated for Internal Assessment and 70 Marks will be allocated for end term proctored examination Securing 40% in both separately is mandatory to pass the course and get the Credit Certificate.
