This online course has been designed to help students to get a basic understanding about the field of psychology. The online mode of this course will allow interested students to learn about psychology at their own pace and as per their convenience. The course will make use of videos, simple activities, case studies and discussions so that students are able to relate to this field and will develop the interest to explore this field further.

Objectives of this course are:
1. This course provides a basic introduction to the development of the discipline both from the Indian as well as western perspective.
2. Review the development of psychological thought and introduce the issues and debates in contemporary psychology.

Instructor bio

Dr. Pallavi Kasande

Savitribai Phule Pune University
Dr. Pallavi Kasande has done masters in clinical psychology and in marketing management. Currently she is working as Counselling Head in Baya Karve Women’s Study Centre’s Counselling Centre. 
She has done PhD in children’s consumer Behaviour. She has 16 years of experience of teaching and 24 years of experience of counselling in Clinical, Relationship and Career Counselling. She has written two books and hundreds of articles in Marathi newspapers and magazines. She has also delivered many lectures on stress management, Parenting, and related area. She has also participated in Webinars as Guest speaker during Covid 19 lockdown. 

Course certificate

Dear Learners,
For getting the certificate and credits, you are required to attempt a minimum of 5 weekly assessments and appear for the end course proctored examination in person. The announcement of the proctored examination will be done separately in due course of time.

The Swayam Board considers marks for best of 5 assessments. You have to secure a minimum of 40% marks average in all the assessments to be eligible for the end course proctored examination. 

The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only). Announcement will be made when the registration form is open for registrations.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE
Average assignment score = 30% of average of best 5 assessments out of the total assessments given in the course.
Exam score = 70% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=12/30 AND EXAM SCORE >= 28/70. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.
