The course aims to educate students about various aspects of the Indian economy, including Macroeconomic Policies, the External Sector, Economic Planning, Agricultural Performance and Policy, Industrial Development, the Service Sector, Financial Markets, Public Finance, and the Management of the Indian Transport System. It also covers Economic Reforms and pressing issues such as inflation, unemployment, poverty, and environmental challenges. The course is structured to foster critical thinking and analytical skills, enhancing students' employability and entrepreneurial capabilities.

Students will gain a thorough understanding of economic growth and development, resource utilization, and economic planning. Dr. Oshma Rosette Pinto, Assistant Professor in the PG Department of Commerce at St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous) in Mysore, boasts an impressive academic profile. With a combined total of 12 years in teaching and 9 years in research at the PG level, Dr. Pinto brings extensive experience to her role. She has authored 22 research articles, with 10 published in international and 12 in national UGC care peer-reviewed journals, all possessing commendable impact factors.

Dr. Pinto has actively participated in and presented 13 research papers at both national and international conferences and seminars, showcasing her dedication to scholarly discourse. She served as the editor for a special issue of the "International Journal of Multi-Dimensional Research (IJMR)" focused on "Emerging Trends in Finance & Accounting," which coincided with the National Conference organized by the PG Department of studies and research in management at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysore.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Pinto contributed an article titled "Little Known Facts about Hibiscus Flower," discussing its medicinal uses, published on the "Medium and Word Press" blog platform.

Course certificate

Assessment/Assignment marks will be considered for Internal Marks and will carry 30 percent for overall Result.

End Term Exam- will have 100 questions and will carry 70 percent of  overall Result.

*All students, who obtain 40% marks in in-course assessment and 40% marks in end-term proctored exam separately, will be eligible for certificate and credit transfer.
