The proposed course titled “Indian Economy-I” is serves as capstone and encapsulates those information one will need to read the drivers of Indian economic structure and related facts. The proposed course provides various dimensions of Indian Economy and covers all core areas namely National Income, Agricultural, Industrial and Infrastructural development and policy. It also focuses on the Financial system in India, Public Finance, Human Development in India, along with International trade. The course facilitates students in understanding various economic problems namely poverty, unemployment, Parallel Economy in India, Prices, Price policy and Economic growth. It enhances student's synthesis skills to address and analyse economic planning, policy and development. It also imparts knowledge which aids to address the vital aspects of sustainable development goals and sustains the significance of natural resources.

The course encourages and enhances the students who are the aspirants of becoming entrepreneurs by providing in depth understanding of various recent trends namely Make in India, Start up India, Digital India and various schemes brought by government if India which contributes in the development of Indian economy. The course is very much relevant to undergraduate students who are studying commerce, management, arts, science, and other social science disciplines. The students who are preparing for various competitive examinations can also embrace the course.

Hence, the proposed course needed for students to make them strategically fit to embrace the future course of action.

Dr. Rajeshwari GM, Associate Professor, Department of Studies in Business Administration, PBMMEC, Mysuru, possesses a wealth of experience and expertise. With 15 years in the professional realm, she brings a diverse background, including 12 years dedicated to teaching at the PG level, coupled with 3 years of corporate experience and 8 years immersed in research. As a seasoned academic, Dr. Rajeshwari serves as a guiding force for 5 Ph.D. students in Commerce at the University of Mysore, Mysuru. Additionally, she actively contributes as a Subject Expert and Teaching Assistant for International Business and Environmental Economics MOOCs UG Courses, enhancing the academic landscape.

Furthermore, Dr. Rajeshwari has made significant scholarly contributions, evident through her publication of 31 research articles in various UGC care peer-reviewed journals, both nationally and internationally. Her commitment to academic enrichment extends beyond publications; she actively participates in conferences, seminars, workshops, FDPs, and MDPs, presenting papers and sharing her expertise.

Dr. Rajeshwari's dedication to fostering academic discourse is further showcased through her role as an organizer of numerous conferences, seminars, workshops, and FDPs, where she also serves as a resource person. Her academic prowess is underscored by her authorship of books catering to the syllabi of University of Mysore and other allied Under Graduate Courses, as well as her role as an Academic Counsellor at IGNOU, Mysore Centre, guiding MBA and M.Com project students. Additionally, her membership in the Innovative & Academic Research Association, Jaipur (IARAJ), further highlights her esteemed standing in the academic community. She is also credited with certification courses from Coursera and UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC: e-Learn).

Assessment/Assignment marks will be considered for Internal Marks and will carry 30 percent for overall Result.

End Term Exam- will have 100 questions and will carry 70 percent of overall Result.

All students, who obtain 40% marks in in-course assessment and 40% marks in end-term proctored exam separately, will be eligible for certificate and credit transfer.
