The course ‘Organisation Behaviour’ aims to prepare students for understanding the human behaviour in an organization. It identifies why human behaviour differs and the reasons that lead to the same The course will provide a good foundation for students intending to study management principles and practices with the study of human behaviour within the organization. The objective of the course is to provide students with the essential content and experiences they need to become a successful manager and an effective employee. By joining the course, students will understand the organisational environment and will be able to learn how to create effective work groups to be successful in their life. It will also help to develop an understanding of aspects that affect organizational behaviour at the micro and macro level. The course imparts in depth knowledge about the “Meaning and concept of Organisation Behaviour, its need and importance, different roles of manager, Evolution of this field of study and various approaches or models of OB. It also focuses on human behaviour concepts of perception, learning & personality and attitude, and will also throw light on motivation and related theories. It explains emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. The Course also elaborates the interpersonal relations from individual level to grouping of individuals into teams and work groups which discusses team building and effective communication. Aspects associated with teams such as conflict, power, politics are also discoursed. Lastly, you will also learn multiple ways in which organization structures exist and importance of each structure. It further discusses ethical behaviour of individuals.

Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Kumar is the Coordinator and Resource Person of this course. He is Ph.D, M.Com, UGC NET and MBA. He is a distinguished scholar, an academician of National and International repute and a very popular teacher. He is working as Director, School of Management and Dean Research, Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi (Himachal Pradesh). He has 23 years of teaching experience as faculty of Commerce and Management with specialisation of Accounting, Finance, Banking & Entrepreneurship. He is a prolific writer and has authored 24 Text Books and 4 Edited Books covering an array of titles pertaining to commerce and management. He has published 50 Research Papers in various Journals of repute as well as presented 43 Research Papers in National and International Conferences. He has been invited 53 times as Resource Person/Keynote Speaker/Session Chair/Co-Chair in the technical sessions of various Conferences and Workshops. He has also been invited for e-Talks as an Expert in many National and International events. He has visited UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam to participate in various International Conferences.

 Prof. Vishal is not only a good academician but also a vibrant researcher, innovative professional and a creative thinker. He played a key role in writing “Vision-2020”, a Vision Document of Maharaja Agrasen University in 2014-15. He has completed many projects as Coordinator and Co-Coordinator assigned by UGC and MHRD. He is also holding a membership of various bodies and editorial board of International Journals.

Himachal Pradesh Commerce and Management Association conferred Dr. Vishal Kumar, HPCMA YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD-2016 on Nov. 27, 2016 for his outstanding research contributions in the field of Commerce and Management. Two scholars have completed Ph.D under his guidance and eight scholars are pursuing their doctoral research under his worthy supervision.

Course certificate

Course certificate will be issued after qualifying the internal assessment and proctored exam. 30 marks will be allocated for Internal Assessment and 70 Marks will be allocated for External Proctored Examination. All students, who obtain 40% marks in in-course assessment and 40% marks in end-term proctored exam separately, will be eligible for certificate and credit transfer.
