This course is designed to prepare post-graduate students in the subject of Education to design their own research and conduct it independently as also to be able to critically evaluate published researches in the field. Students will have a comprehensive overview of research methodology which describes the various stages of quantitative studies, from writing a research proposal, developing tools of research, collecting the data, analysing data to reporting the results. The process includes finding resources, reviewing relevant up‐to‐date literatures, making appropriate bibliographic citations, collecting data and its analysis using appropriate frameworks. Students will carry out original research as the basis for a masters’ thesis, dissertation proposal, or research publication. Much of the course will be devoted to learning practical writing techniques needed to write different parts of a research paper, such as introduction, data analysis, result and discussion, conclusion and the abstract of the complete paper.

• Retd. Professor in the Senior Grade and worked in the Department of Education, University of Mumbai
• Teacher educator since 1990 having worked in the University PG department in the SNDT Women’s University followed by the University of Mumbai
• Taught at the M.Ed., M.Phil and PhD levels
• Teaching Research Methodology since 1994 at M.Ed and MPhil levels
• Successfully guided 44 PhD students, written 18 books and about 140 papers in journals and conference proceedings
• Conducted 3 refresher courses in Education. I have visited 8 countries and presented papers, given 1 invited lecture and participated in discussion forum at international levels
• Organized 14 seminars, workshops and conferences. I have been a peer reviewer in several journals and conferences
• Conducted 2 Major Research Projects funded by UGC

For SWAYAM Exam (conducted by NTA): A minimum of 40% Marks in Internal Assessments is required to be eligible for the SWAYAM Certificate. The Best/Top five scores from the weekly assignments will be considered while calculating your final internal assessment marks.

For University-Conducted Exam: You must complete at least 75% of the Internal Assessments to qualify for the university’s end-term examination.
