Following are the main objectives of the course :

 

·       To throw light on the risk of injury and augments recovery for ailments including stress, lower back pain and tension.

·       To discuss the features of different Yoga and Yoga Asana.

·       To enable the student to have good health.

·       To practice mental hygiene.

·       To possess emotional stability.

This course talks about the Yoga and types of Yoga asanas. There are 27 lectures which designed to improve the health, performance and mental acuity of athletes or individuals interested in improving their level of fitness. Based on the ancient fitness science of hatha yoga, it blends balance, strength, flexibility and power in a fitness format. With the help of this course students can reduces the risk of injury and augments recovery for ailments including stress, lower back pain and tension.

 

Yoga is a gift for body and mind. Yoga education can supplement school and university education. It can prepare the students physically and mentally for the integration of their physical, mental and spiritual faculties so that the students can become healthier, saner and more integrated members of the society and of the nation.

Yoga education helps in self-discipline and self-control, leading to immense amount of awareness, concentration and higher level of consciousness.

Dr. Jagdish Singh

Associate Professor, College of Physical Education, Punjabi University, Patiala (Pb.)

Having taught and coached for more than 27 years, Dr. Jagdish Singh is a seasoned academician and sports professional. He has been an Associate Professor at Govt. Physical College and Govt. Mohindra College in Patiala. He has a Ph.D. in Physical Education from Punjab University in Chandigarh. Students at the B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed., M.Phil., and Ph.D. levels have been guided by him. He has mentored top athletes and won numerous titles as a former national badminton player and coach. In addition to being the author of Sharirik Swachta Aur Swasthaya Shiksha and a certified yoga and lawn tennis coach, Dr. Singh has made a substantial contribution to sports science and education.



Course certificate

Internal Assessment
Weekly assessments released in the course shall be considered for Internal Marks and will carry 30 percent for the Overall Result. Out of all weekly assignments, the best/top five scores will be considered for the final Internal Assessment marks.

End-term Assessment
The final exam shall be conducted by NTA, and will carry 70 percent for the overall Result.

All students who obtain 40% marks in the internal assessment and 40% marks in the end-term proctored exam separately will be eligible for the SWAYAM Credit Certificate.
