Information and Technology are not only words now, today these two words are drivers of change and growth throughout the world. Today’s society is knowledge driven society, in which technology is used as tool for creating, sharing and preserving knowledge. Information Technology along with communication technology (ICT) has become the backbone of socio economic activities and development.

Digital India movement of the government has given an additional pace to penetration of ICT in the Indian society. With the use of internet, the world has now become a single village.

Every development activity has its own cost and ICT is also not aloof of that. Internet and ICT has opened new ways of crime and the risk is increasing with the advancement and use of technology.

There is an utmost need to increase awareness and imparting skills, in the Indian society, on the issues in the domain of Information Security. There is a need to understand the relationship of information security, digital forensics and cyber laws.

This course is designed with the aim to create awareness, extend education and prepare the base for further studies in the area of information security, digital forensics and cyber laws.

The course will be focusing on information systems, information security, security threats and risks, computer crimes, data security and backup, importance of digital forensic, issues in computer and mobile forensic and cyber laws in detail.

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore

Dr. Pratosh Bansal received B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur (MP), India, in 1995, and the M.Tech. degree with Specialization in Energy Management from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (MP), India, in 1999. Then he has done another M.Tech. degree in Computer Science from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (MP), India, in 2003. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (MP), in 2011.

Presently, he is working as a Professor, at Department if Information Technology, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (MP), since 2013. He is also Professor In-charge, Centre for Cyber Security and Digital Forensics Studies & Research (IET-DAVV), Member, Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) on e-governance, UGC, MHRD and Chairman, Board of Studies (Information Technology), Under faculty of Engineering (2016-19), DAVV. He is guiding 08 research scholars in versatile areas. He has guided around 35 M.E. Students. He has published 25 papers in similar areas in Journals of repute and International Conferences.

30% for in Course Assessment & 70% of End-term Proctored Exam.

If You wish to get certified on this course you must register and write the proctored exam after payment of exam fee.
The exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in various exam centres across India.
30 % will be allocated for Internal Assessment and 70 % will be allocated for external proctored examination.
A minimum 40 % passing marks are needed in internal AS WELL AS external for being eligible for certificate.
