Agriculture is a broad term encompassing all aspects crop production, horticulture, livestock farming and forestry etc. Agriculture Geography is concerned with the spatial variation, distribution and location of agricultural activities on the earth surface and factors responsible for them. It is dominated by the interaction and effects of both physical and socio-economic factors on spatial farm enterprises and farm operations.

Agricultural Geography addresses bio-physical determinants of agricultural pattern and productivity, socio-cultural and economic determinants of agricultural pattern and spatial organization. In recent years agriculture trade in many countries remains as an important part of overall economic activities. It also plays an important role in domestic agriculture production and employment and trading system plays a major role in global food security.

In all the above aspects the study of agriculture Geography is more relevant useful branch of human Geography.

Dr V Krishna Kumar

University of Mysore

Dr.V. Krishna Kumar obtained his M.A in Geograplıy securing first class from the University of Mysore. Mysuru. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph D) from the University of Mysore, Mysuru, for his research work entitled "Changing Land Use Pattern and its Impact on Environs of Mysore City’’ under the guidance of Prof. Subash Sanna Siddannanavar. He has more than 15 years of teaching experience at the University level. He has comprehensive and vast experience in coaching students appearing for various competitive examinations. He has participated in several conferences/seminars and has published more than 15 research articles in reputed international and national journals. He has already published 3 notable books in Geography, which have been commended both by the teaching and the student fraternity. His research insights are frequently published in numerous nationally recognized newspapers and magazines. He successfully serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, Maharaja's College University of Mysore Mysuru.

Course certificate

- *Internal Assessment*- Weekly assessments released in the course shall be considered for Internal Marks and will carry 30 percent for the Overall Result. Out of all weekly assignments, the best/top five scores will be considered for the final Internal Assessment marks.
- *End-term Assessment* - The final exam shall be conducted by NTA, and will carry 70 percent for the overall Result.
- All students who obtain 40% marks in the internal assessment and 40% marks in the end-term proctored exam separately will be eligible for the SWAYAM Credit Certificate.
