Psychology, which is a study of human behaviour has wide applications in all spheres of life. It is a highly applicable body of knowledge in clinical settings, industries, educational settings and even in everyday life situations. This course is a basic introduction to psychology, its sub fields, and to important mental processes such as perception, learning, thinking, and memory. We have tried to supplement each of these concepts with real life examples and small exercises and activities to engage the student.

Dr. Megha Deuskar

Savitribai Phule Pune University
Megha Deuskar, Ph.D., is an accomplished academician, a researcher and a counseling psychologist. A gold medalist at the Masters level she earned her doctoral degree with a UGC fellowship in 2006. With an extensive teaching experience of over 20 years she continues to be one of the most popular teachers at the Department of Psychology, Fergusson College, Pune. She is a trained Yoga expert from the Yoga Vidyapeeth, Nashik, Maharashtra. She is an ardent researcher with over 35 research articles in national and international journals to her credit. She is a research guide at Savitribai Phule Pune University. Since 2008 she has been coordinating the one year post graduate program in counseling in Fergusson College. She completed her certification as a Supervisor from the Australian Counseling Association. She is a member of the Indian Academy of Professional Supervisors.

End-Term Examination:
 - Weightage: 70% of the final result
 - Minimum Passing Criteria: 40%

Internal Assessment:
 - Weightage: 30% of the final result
 - Minimum Passing Criteria: 40%

Calculation of IA Marks:
 - Out of all graded weekly assessments/assignments, the top 50% of assignments shall be considered for the calculation of the final Internal Assessment marks.

All students who obtain 40% marks in the internal assessment and 40% marks in the end-term proctored exam separately will be eligible for the SWAYAM Credit Certificate.
