Public Policy and Governance are an integration of the study of Political Science and Public Administration. Understanding the nuances of public policy and governance are important given the impact of the policies on social and economic conditions of the citizens in any given country. 

The government comes out with various policies from time to time and implements them through the bureaucratic framework. The Educational Policy, Health Policy, Economic Policy, Environmental Policy, Employment Policy, etc, all assume importance for the country. 

The paper sensitizes the students to the implications of public policies and governance from a systemic approach.

Instructor bio

Dr. A. Sridhar Raj

Institute of Public Enterprise
Dr. A Sridhar Raj is working as a Professor at the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad in the areas of Organization Behavior, HRM, Organization Development and Leadership. Completed PhD from Osmania University. I am involved in teaching, research, consultancy, and training activities. 

He completed his master’s degree from Osmania University in Public Administration and has keen interest in the areas of public policy, governance, citizen centric systems, etc. He has developed courseware for the papers – Administrative Theory, Indian Administration, Comparative Public Administration, Central and State Governments, Local Government and Public Personnel Administration for the students pursuing distance education in Public Administration. 

He also wrote a book on Case Studies in Modern HRM. 

Teaching assignments include courses like Introduction to Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Organization Development, Emotional Intelligence, etc.  

Also working as Coordinator for Management Development Programmes at IPE and a POSH Certified Trainer Designed several training programmes for the executives of public enterprises including ISRO, NMDC Ltd., POWERGRID Corpn of India Ltd., ECIL, Bharat Dynamics Ltd. Goa Shipyard Ltd. Hindustan Copper Ltd., etc. 

Attended FDPs conducted by IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, IIMK, Rotterdam School of Management, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, SDA Bocconi, Milan, Italy and Business School of Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from for everyone, irrespective of backgrounds.
However, if you wish to get a certificate, you need to pay examination fee and appear for internal and a proctored exam, which will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Weightage: For Internal assessment-30% for in-course assessment, and 70% for end-term proctored exam. Minimum 40% marks need to be secured both in internal and proctored exams.
Exam registration fee: Rs. 1000/-
Date of exam: to be announced   (All related information will be notified on SWAYAM platform)
If you succeed in the examination, a certificate will be issued by the MoE (previously MHRD) and credit transfer certificate for eligible participants will be issued by Osmania University,  Hyderabad.
