Course Overview :This course aims to helps participants develop a thorough business plan from the idea generation to incubation enabling a connect with real-time mentors for counseling and guidance and finally culminating into an opportunity of a business plan competition. Thus it completes a full circle with a participant being able to pitch their real time filtered ideas and business plan to a probable investor for getting funded and building a startup. This course is also unique and different as it enables the learners to learn through mentors, facilitators and peers all at one time and helps them resolve their queries. Students, entrepreneurs, homemakers and aspiring small business people can engage through the course and take its benefit with better understanding on the startup Eco system.

Objectives :

1. To define the concept of Entrepreneurs, and Intrapreneurs and classify the different types of businesses.

2. To identify market gaps, develop solutions through ideation and translate them into concrete business ideas.

3. To identify the role of different incubators and EDP's.

4. To identify the legal and ethical foundations for startups, and start up financing.

Dr Saikat Gochhait

Dr Saikat academic background includes obtaining a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Entrepreneurship from the University of Extremadura in 2018 and a Post Doctoral Fellowship from the National Dong Hwa University in 2019. In 2014, he was conferred with doctoral degree in Marketing from Sambalpur University, India. The thesis associated with my PhD was recognized with the Doctoral Bursary Award from Coventry University in 2010. Additionally, I was awarded a DITA Fellowship from the University of Deusto in 2016, a MOFA Taiwan Fellowship in 2019, and a Russian Fellowship in 2020 from the Samara State Medical University, Russia. He was awarded Honoris Causa by ITUEM, Mexico in 2023 for the contribution to the inter-cultural research community. My teaching experience includes 15 years in marketing, entrepreneurship, and information technology, as well as five years of manufacturing industry experience with Tata Groups and Bajoria Groups. Currently collaborated with over 40 universities for research and project collaborations in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Healthcare Technology, and Entrepreneurship. Developed a model patented and has received grants from the Department of Science and Industrial Research , GoI. He also headed the Business Incubator (BI) funded by MSME from 2016-2017. Currently hold 5 patents with One invention patent in process.

Dr CA Abhijit Chirputkar

Dr. Abhijit Chirputkar is presently the Director at Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management (SIDTM) which is a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) (SIU). He is a Rank holder in M.Com. in University of Pune. He is a Chartered Accountant and before joining Symbiosis, he was a practicing Chartered Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor. He furthered his education in finance and completed a program of Masters in Business Finance from ICAI. He has consulting experience of more than ten years in the areas of Finance, Audit and Assurance, Taxation. He has more than 22 years of teaching experience including corporate training. He has written more than 35 articles, papers, case studies and chapters in books and more than 5 patents to his credit. He has presented papers in national and International Conferences including IIM-A.

Dr Anand Shindikar is currently working as an Associate Professor and Head, Intellectual Property (IP) Cell at Symbiosis Centre for Research and Innovation (SCRI), Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, India.

Dr Anand Shindikar received the doctoral and postgraduation qualification in Pharmaceutical sciences from University of Mumbai.

He is a registered Indian Patent Agent. He has more than 17 years of cumulative research experience inclusive of Industry and Medical research. His research areas include Chemical Process Development, Drug Discovery and Health Sciences. During his stint in pharma industry, he has developed efficient chemical processes for drug and drug intermediates.

As an inventor, he has to his credit, patent applications published in India and abroad. He has presented research work in various Drug Discovery conferences, Indian Pharmaceutical Congress and in conferences held by Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists. His research work on Antiepileptic drugs molecules, Antimycobacterial agents has been published in peer reviewed journals with 120 + citations.

Dr. Shindikar is a recipient of HF Khorakiwala Gold Medal.

He has held the following research fellowships

He has received certification from Clinical Development Services Agency (CDSA) for completion of course work on ‘Current Regulatory Requirements for conducting clinical trials in India for investigational new drugs / new drug.

CA Kiran Kunte

CA Kiran Gopal Kunte, is a distinguished Chartered Accountant (FCA, DISA, LL.B, IFRS, and Qualified Insolvency Professional) based in Pune. With over two decades of experience, he founded K.G.Kunte & Associates, a prominent firm specializing in Audit and Assurance, Direct tax representation, Corporate law, FEMA, and Project Finance. Kiran's expertise extends to Corporate Consultancy, Business Valuation, Systems Audit, and XBRL implementation.

Kiran actively engages in professional development through teaching and seminars. He conducts On-Site Management Programmes for SIBM at BACS (Gurgaon) and DB (Bangalore, Mumbai), and is a regular faculty for ICAI-CPE Seminars, particularly on Bank Branch Audit and Companies Act 2013. He has delivered lectures on XBRL and Concurrent Audit of Banks at Sarasbag CPE Study Circle, Pune. Kiran also contributes articles to ICAI Pune's newsletter.

Dr. Sophia Gaikwad

Dr Sophia has been a Teacher Educator since 2007 and presently working as the Head of Symbiosis Teaching Learning Resource Centre (STLRC), Symbiosis International (Deemed University). She is with STLRC, since 2013. During this tenure the centre has planned and successfully organized more than 550 Faculty development programmes with National and International experts/ resource people from Academia and Industry; in the areas of Teaching, Learning, Evaluation, Andragogy, Higher Education and Research Methodology. STLRC, SIU received the 8th FICCI Higher Education Excellence Award in the category of “Excellence in Faculty Development” in November 2022. Her Ph.D. in Education from SNDT Womens’ University, focuses on Multiple Intelligences based teaching and she had received Sohani scholarship prize for the same. She has qualified SET and NET and also has an M.A. and M.Ed. to her credit. She works in the areas of Interactive Teaching-Learning, Andragogy, Instructional design, Higher Education, and Inclusion; and facilitates sessions on the same at various HRDCs and universities.She has authored two books on 'Teaching Methodology' and her research papers have been published in SCOPUS indexed journals. She has been the Reviewer of chapters of the IGI Global book, Cross-Disciplinary Approaches to Action Research and Action Learning; and also, is Reviewer and Article Editor for selected articles with SAGE open.

She has worked on various research projects including a minor research project on Assessing the needs and reach of training in higher education. She was also a team member from Symbiosis in an Erasmus+ funded project on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in its initial phase during 2017-18. She is currently working in an Erasmus+ CBHE project on 21st Century teaching skills. She has travelled to The University of Castilla–La Mancha, Ciudad Real, Spain, The Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, NCERT, New Delhi, Karnataka, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry, for training and project related work. She is an Approved Ph.D. supervisor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) under the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; and presently 3 scholars are working with her. She is also an Approved Ph.D. Supervisor with Lincoln University College, Malaysia under the faculty of Education; and 2 scholars are working with her. 20 students have completed their Research work as a part of the M.Ed. syllabus under her guidance; and have submitted their dissertations to SNDT Women’s University. Till date 24 students have completed their Seminar paper which is a research paper to be written by students as a requirement of the last semester for the degree in B.A./B.Sc. Liberal Arts, Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts. These papers were under the theme of Inclusion, Creativity, Pillars of Education and NEP 2020. She has successfully completed the ‘Designing Learner Centric MOOC’ course with Silver Medal and closely monitors the work of MOOC creation at SIU.
