Tourism as an industry offers a set of offerings that is a combination of both tangibles and as well as intangibles. There is a mix of stakeholders involved in shaping and delivering a complete tourism offering. On one hand marketers are putting consistent efforts to market tourism offerings at their best and on the other hand tourism consumers i.e., tourists behaviour is constantly evolving due to technological advancements and changing societal norms.

 

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the exciting world of tourism. The course has been designed to delve into understanding of tourist behaviour and analysing effective tourism strategies. The course aims to enable learners in understanding the changing paradigms of tourism. At the beginning the course will cover the introduction to services marketing followed by the fundamentals of tourism marketing. Furthermore, the course will enable participants to explore the behaviour of tourists and also focuses on developing strategies for tapping potential tourists.

 

Finally, the course rides on the internet revolution and provides deeper insights on how tourists consume information and communicate with tourism organisations. Topics like Social Media Content, Chatbots, Use of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and the role of travel and food blogs in tourism promotion are also covered in the course.

 

Overall, this course will equip the participants with a foundational knowledge of tourism, allowing them to understand the industry, analyze tourist behavior, and develop effective marketing strategies using modern day marketing media.

Dr. Anurag Jain

Dr. Anurag Jain is a faculty of marketing having eight years of experience in the field of management education. He has started his career in the fashion industry and completed seven years into the same by focusing on the dynamics of Retailing & CRM. Before joining CMS Business School, JAIN (Deemed-be University), he has worked for three years in the Marketing Area of Indian Institute of Management, Indore. He has achieved his Doctorate Degree in Management [Tourism Marketing] from Devi Ahilya University, Indore. He is an executive alumni of IIM Indore and also holds a Professional Membership of AIMA, Bangalore.

 

Anurag Jain has his keen interest in delivering courses like Tourism Marketing, Marketing of Services, Digital and Social Media Marketing, Marketing Management, Omni-Channel Marketing and Customer Relationship Management. His Strength lies in designing & delivering new courses as per participant requirements, curated as per academia & industry standards. Vishal Soodan is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing at the Faculty of Management Studies in JAIN (Deemed to be University) Bengaluru, India. He has over eight years of experience in teaching and research and is UGC-NET qualified. His teaching interests include courses like Marketing Research Tools, Omni-Channel Marketing and Digital and Social Media Marketing. Dr. Soodan's area of research expertise lies in Cognitive Psychology and Social Media Marketing. He has conducted multiple workshops on Digital Marketing/Business Analytics and has published numerous articles in both national and international journals. Additionally, he serves on the editorial board of Journals. Dr. Vishal also holds Australian and Indian Patents and has received multiple best paper awards for his research papers presented at both national and international conferences.
