Course Overview:

This course is a foundational course offered to undergraduate students in Commerce and Management. The course covers various aspects of research. The course starts with the Philosophical Foundations of Research, progresses to techniques involved in a Systematic Literature Review, Methods of Data Collection, Tools for Data Analysis, and finally ends with Reporting. This course will focus on Quantitative, Qualitative, and mixed methods that are widely used in business research.

 

Course Objective:

At the end of the course, the student will be able to,

1. Understand the philosophy of research

2. Remember the Ethical Considerations involved in publishing

3. Identify the appropriate research methods, data sources and Analytical tools

4. Synthesize and present the research work

Dr. V R. Uma has around 26 years of experience in Teaching. She teaches for various programmes such as B Com, M Com and Ph.D. She specialises in Consumer behaviour and Health Insurance. She has presented several  research papers in national and international conferences. She has published research articles in Journals that are indexed in Scopus, WoS and ABDC.  She has published around 11 patents. She is a recognised Guide for supervising Ph D scholars in Commerce. In addition to teaching, she is involved in administration as well. At present, she is also the Associate Director (Academics),  Centre for Research, Christ University, Bangalore.
