In a world driven by data and discovery, this course equips learners with the tools to transform ideas into evidence-based insights. Over ten weeks, this course takes you through the complete research journey—from crafting robust hypotheses to mastering advanced analytical techniques like Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Designed for learners from diverse disciplines such as business, medicine, and the social sciences, the course blends conceptual understanding with hands-on application. You’ll explore hypothesis testing using methods like t-tests, ANOVA, regression, and non-parametric tests, and advance to SEM topics including measurement models, mediation and moderation, and multi-group analysis. By the end, you’ll be able to design, analyze, and present a complete, rigorous research model ready for academic or professional use. This course is your blueprint for analytical thinking, scientific reasoning, and data-driven decision-making.

Dr. Chandra Sen Mazumdar is an Associate Professor at the Faculty
of Management and Commerce, M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, with
over 16 years of combined academic and industry experience. She holds a Ph.D.
and M.Sc. (Engg.) in Operations Management from the prestigious Indian
Institute of Science, Bangalore. Her doctoral research focused on revenue
management in the airline industry, while her master's thesis explored
operations research techniques using stochastic Petri nets.
Dr. Sen Mazumdar specializes in applied analytics, supply chain
management, operations research, and machine learning for business, aligning
seamlessly with the MOOC's objective of bridging theory and practice in
empirical research. She has taught diverse subjects including data analytics,
forecasting, operations, and quality management, and has guided over 40
postgraduate and PhD research scholars.
She has served as Principal Investigator for an ICSSR-funded
project and played a pivotal role in curriculum design, NEP implementation, and
academic collaborations, including the MITx Micromasters in Supply Chain
Management. With extensive hands-on experience using tools such as SmartPLS, R,
SPSS, and Python, Dr. Sen Mazumdar brings methodological depth and practical
insights to the course. Her interdisciplinary approach and commitment to
research excellence make her an integral contributor to the course delivery
team.

Dr. S. Ajitha is a highly experienced academic and industry
professional with over 16+ years of experience in both fields. She holds a BE
in Computer Science, an MBA with specializations in Finance and Human
Resources, an MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy, a Ph.D. in Management
from Mother Teresa Women’s University and an M.Tech. in Data Science and
Engineering from BITS Pilani.
Dr. Ajitha is serving as an Associate Professor at M S Ramaiah
University of Applied Sciences. Holding a Ph.D. in Management with strong
expertise in research methodology, quantitative data analysis, and advanced
statistical tools including SPSS, AMOS, SmartPLS and published extensively in
Scopus-indexed journals and conducted hands-on training sessions for
postgraduate and doctoral students. Currently guiding two Ph.D. scholars in
related research domains. With a strong background in structural equation modeling
and academic writing.

Dr. Reshma K.J. is an Assistant Professor at the School of
Business Management of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) with core academic and
research interests in Management and Finance. Her expertise lies in behavioral
finance, entrepreneurial intention, and decision-making processes, with a
specialized focus on the application of Partial Least Squares Structural
Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in empirical research.
She has significant experience in teaching, supervising research,
and designing curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Dr.
Reshma is adept at using PLS-SEM to model complex relationships between latent
variables, validate measurement models, and test structural hypotheses in
social science research.
In addition to her academic role, she regularly conducts
value-added courses and hands-on training sessions for postgraduate and
undergraduate students, as well as early-career researchers, focusing on
advanced data analysis techniques and the practical application of PLS-SEM
using software tools. Her work reflects a strong commitment to promoting
methodological rigor and enhancing research quality in the fields of business
and management.
