Corporate Communication and Event Management are interconnected fields essential for building strong organisational identities, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and enhancing brand engagement. Corporate Communication focuses on how organisations convey their mission, values, and goals to internal and external audiences such as employees, customers, investors, and the media. It involves creating a consistent narrative that supports the organisation’s reputation through public relations, media relations, crisis communication, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. Effective communication fosters transparency, trust, and a positive public image in an increasingly competitive environment.

Event Management centres on planning, organising, and executing events that fulfil strategic objectives, from boosting brand visibility to celebrating organisational milestones. This field requires careful coordination of logistics, budgeting, stakeholder involvement, and risk management, combined with creative skills to deliver memorable experiences. With advances in technology, hybrid and virtual events have become more prominent, highlighting the need for digital proficiency.

The synergy between the two fields lies in their shared aim of shaping perceptions and creating value. Communication strategies amplify event impact, while events provide platforms for organisations to express their identity and connect with audiences. This course equips learners with essential knowledge and skills to excel in both areas and contribute to organisational success.

After completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Define the foundational principles of corporate communication and event management.
  2. Explain the interrelationship between corporate communication strategies and event management practices in achieving organisational goals.
  3. Critically analyse the effectiveness of real-world corporate communication campaigns and event strategies, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  4. Evaluate the success of corporate communication strategies and event management practices using case studies.
  5. Apply the knowledge in designing and presenting comprehensive corporate communication and event management plans.
