ABOUT THE COURSE:
The course covers the Injuries, their classification, Mechanical injuries, Firearm injuries, Regional Injuries and their medicolegal importance. The course is well elicited with photographs and live experience of cases on different medicolegal incidence. Medco-legal aspects of the injuries will be discussed in details imparting updated legal guidelines. The topics related to Injuries taught to undergraduate MBBS students as per revised Competency based medical education curriculum designed by the National Medical Commission 6XUC; for the Indian Medical Graduates, 2018. The course will give you an updated information about the various aspects of Injuries and help you to develop better understanding for the documentation of Medico-legal cases.

Week 1: Mechanical injuries and wounds: Define, describe and classify different types of mechanical injuries, abrasion, bruise, laceration, stab wound, incised wound, chop wound, defense wound, self-inflicted/fabricated wounds and their medico-legal aspects

Week 2: Mechanical injuries and wounds: Define injury, assault & hurt. Describe IPC pertaining to injuries; Mechanical injuries and wounds: Describe accidental, suicidal and homicidal injuries. Describe simple, grievous and dangerous injuries. Describe ante-mortem and post-mortem injuries

Week 3: Mechanical injuries and wounds: Describe healing ofl injury and fracture of bones with its medico-legal importance; Describe factors influencing infliction of injuries and healing, examination and certification of wounds and wound as a cause of death: primary and Secondary; Mechanical injuries and wounds: Describe and discuss different types of weapons including dangerous weapons and their examination

Week 4: Firearm injuries: Describe different types of firearms including structure and components. Along with description of ammunition propellant charge and mechanism of fire-arms, different types of cartridges and bullets and various terminology in relation of firearm - caliber, range, choking

Week 5: Firearm injuries: Describe and discuss wound ballistics-different types of firearm injuries, blast injuries and their interpretation, preservation and dispatch of trace evidences in cases of firearm and blast injuries, various tests related to confirmation of use of firearms

Week 6: Regional injuries: Describe and discuss regional injuries to head (Scalp wounds, fracture skull, intracranial hemorrhages, coup and contrecoup injuries), neck, chest, abdomen, limbs, genital organs, spinal cord and skeleton

Week 7: Regional Injuries Describe and discuss injuries related to fall from height and vehicular injuries - primary and Secondary impact, Secondary injuries, crush syndrome, railway spin

Week 8: Post-mortem examination of different types of death due to various injuries

Prof. Mohd Kaleem Khan

Prof. Mohd Kaleem Khan working as an Associate Professor Department of Forensic Medicine. He has done his schooling from S T High School (Minto Circle) A.M.U., Aligarh, and did plus two from Syed Hamid Senior Secondary School. He did his M.B.B.S. from J.N.M.C., A.M.U., and MD (Forensic Medicine) from the Department of Forensic Medicine from the same College. Did Senior Residency from the same Department and was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2015. He is presently working as an editor to various national and international journals including, the National Editorial Board of IP International Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicological Sciences, and Associate Editor to the journal; Advances in Clinical Toxicology (ACT). Reviewer to various journals including Forensic Research & Criminology International Journal, Academia.edu, Asian Journal of Research and Reports in Neurology, etc. Being In charge, of the Clinical Forensic Medicine Unit in Trauma Center J N Medical College A. M. U., Aligarh established under the Department of Forensic Medicine, worked on various medico legal cases and solved many cases of crime along with Uttar Pradesh police and given training to police officers on medico legal issues. Have been a member of different committees and boards working on behalf of the University, for Government of Uttar Pradesh, and the Government of India. He was privileged to be a resource person at various conferences, lectures, and workshops and work with the Uttar Pradesh Government on medico-legal works helping in the disbursement of justice. He is working in different administrative capacities for the University including warden-ship, assistant superintendent examination, member of the anti-ragging committee, and many more.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: 25 October 2024 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of AMU and INI. 

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
