ABOUT THE COURSE:

The main aim of this course is to familiarize the students with basic concepts, essentials and current issues related to business tourism and to understand the potential of MICE and Event management in tourism industry. Also, the students will be able to know about the Indian and International trade fairs and marts.

i.Understand the concept of Business Tourism, Event Management and MICE as a tourism product.
ii.Know the major players of Business Tourism in India
iii.Know about the Indian and International trade fairs, marts etc

Instructor bio

Prof. Sheeba Hamid

Aligarh Muslim University

Sheeba Hamid is a Professor, Coordinator & Training and Placement Officer of MBA(Tourism & Travel Management) at Aligarh Muslim University. She is a Member of the National Rural Tourism Council at WICCI (Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry). She is also Joint Secretary of the National Executive Committee of the Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress. She is also an Allied Member of the Indian Food Tourism Organisation. She is also an invited member of G100 (a global platform for joint action empowering “gender equality beyond borders” under the auspices of All Ladies League (ALL)). Sheeba has been nominated as State Chair of Uttar Pradesh of the G100 World Peace Wing. Among her many accomplishments in the field of tourism are 50 academic publications  and five books (including the first-ever collection of solved question papers to NET/JRF/Assistant Professor Eligibility exams in Tourism Administration and Management). Her five recent research papers on various aspects of Tourism industry during Covid 19 have been recognised by World Health Organization (WHO) and listed under Global Literature on Corona virus Disease.

She has prepared study material on Tourism for Open Universities and Distance Education Centers in India. Sheeba has also authored E-Content for school children on Responsible Tourism as member of WICCI.  She was a Visiting Faculty to teach a course on International Tourism at the University of Goa in 2014.She has delivered over 120 invited talks at various academic events across India. She is associated with a number of universities in various academic assignments. She is also a Counselor for Tourism Programmes at IGNOU. She has also been awarded for an outstanding research paper on Tourism by Emerald Publishing, UK.



Prof. Mohd Saeem Khan

Prof. Mohd Saeem Khan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Aligarh. He also serves as the Assistant Training & Placement Officer for the Master's Programme in Tourism at AMU. For the past five years, Dr. Khan has been teaching various subjects in the MBA(Tourism & Travel Management) program. He has published research papers in reputable journals and publications such as IGI Global, Taylor and Francis, and Springer. Currently, Dr. Khan is working as a Co-Director on an ICSSR-sponsored project, further showcasing his commitment to research and academic excellence.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: 25 October 2024 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.

Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup. It will have the logos of AMU and INI.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
