Week 7: Concept, nature and importance of Motivation, Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation, Theories of Motivation - Maslow’s Need Hierarchy Theory, Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory, McGregor’s Theory of X and Theory Y, Ouchi’s Theory Z

Week 8: Concept and characteristic of Leadership, Formal and Informal Leaders, Leadership Style, Theories of Leadership, Transactional and Transformational Leadership.

Week 9: Communication – its concept, nature, process and significance, Channel of Communication, Communication Networks, Barriers to Communication, Overcoming barriers to Communication

Instructor bio

Prof. Vishal Kumar Laheri

Banaras Hindu University
Prof. Vishal Kumar Laheri is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University. He obtained his Doctoral degree from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. Before joining Banaras Hindu University, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Prof. B.R. Ambedkar College, University of Delhi. Prof. Laheri has over six years of teaching experience in UG and PG courses. His interests include Marketing, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Environment, and Strategy. He has developed online resource material for MBA and Diploma courses. Prof. Laheri has delivered several guest lectures on Management subjects of other disciplines and acted as a resource person in various workshops and seminars. He has published several research papers indexed in Scopus and ABDC's list of journals. He has also presented his research papers at international conferences organised by IIMs and IITs. Prof. Laheri received the Best Research Paper Award in 2023 for his research article published in the Journal of Consumer Marketing (Scopus Q1 indexed and ABDC - A-ranked).

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: 25 October 2024 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.
Registration url: Announcements will be made when the registration form is open for registrations.
The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of BHU and INI.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
