The course “Fundamentals of IT" provides essential concepts and principles in Information Technology (IT), covering theory and practical applications. Students would gain knowledge across key areas like IT components, computer systems, networks, information systems, software development, ethics, emerging technologies like cloud computing, Al, cybersecurity and their applications. It has been designed for both UG & PG level students. The aim is to prepare them for advanced studies or careers in IT-related fields with a foundational understanding of industry trends and terminology.

Prof. Aasim Zafar

Aligarh Muslim University
Dr. Aasim Zafar is a Professor at Computer Science Department, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and has a teaching and research experience of more than 29 years both at national and international level. He holds Master in Computer Science and Applications and obtained the degree of Ph. D. in Computer Science, from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. His research areas and special interests include Mobile Ad hoc and Sensor Networks, Image Processing and Video Analytics, Information Retrieval, E- Systems, e-Security, Virtual Learning Environment, Neuro-Fuzzy and Soft Computing, and Software Engineering. His areas of teaching interest include Computer Networks, Network Security, Software Engineering, E-Systems, Database Management Systems and Computer Programming. He has presented many papers in National and International Conferences and published various research papers in journals of international repute.


Prof. Arman Rasool Faridi

Aligarh Muslim University
Dr. Arman Rasool Faridi is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, U.P., India, with over 26 years of teaching and research experience. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Chemistry, a Master in Computer Science and Applications (MCA) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He was awarded the President of India Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal for his achievements. His research interests include Information Security, Soft Computing, Blockchain & Distributed Ledger Technology, Video Analytics, and Machine Learning. His teaching interest include Analysis and Design of Information Systems, Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Modeling, e-Commerce, Computer Networks and Network Security. Dr. Faridi has presented many papers in National and International conferences and has a significant number of publications in reputed International journals.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: April 25, 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.
Registration url: Announcements will be made when the registration form is open for registrations.
The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.
Please check the form for more details on the cities where the exams will be held, the conditions you agree to when you fill the form etc.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 6 assignments out of the total 8 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of INI and AMU .

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
