ABOUT THE COURSE:
Quality teacher interventions are crucial for achieving the goals of NEP 2020, with pedagogical knowledge and teaching methods defining teacher professionalism. Teacher education programs emphasize effective pedagogy and teaching practices. Research shows that children learn languages quickly, and abstract concepts are grasped better when taught in their mother tongue or local language. To enhance language learning, maximum exposure to the target language is essential. This course equips students & prospective-teachers with language teaching skills, covering the nature, scope, importance, and functions of language. It also focuses on non-verbal communication, historical and policy perspectives, teaching methods, and the development of speaking, reading, and writing skills. This course will be highly beneficial for students pursuing FYUP course, teacher training programs, including B.Ed., M.Ed., and the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP).

Prof. Noora Abdul Kader

Aligarh Muslim University
Prof. Noora Abdul Kader is a distinguished academic serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. With a strong background in English Language Education, she brings a wealth of expertise in teaching and learning English as a second language. She holds BA and MA in English Language and Literature, B.Ed, M.Ed and Ph.D (English language Education). Her career is marked by notable accomplishments, including being the recipient of esteemed research grants such as the ICSSR Major Research Project and the PMMMNMTT Minor Research Project. Beyond teaching, she has established herself as a leading researcher, with significant contributions to studies addressing cultural, social, and technological dimensions of Education. She has also authored several books and published numerous research papers in reputed national and international journals, showcasing her scholarly contributions to the field of Education. Dr. Noora has acted as a resource person in various academic programs, sharing her knowledge and expertise with educators, researchers, and students. She has the credit of developing modules and video lectures on MOOC Courses in the SWAYAM Platform. Her dedication to advancing educational theory and practice, coupled with her innovative research, underscores her influential role in the academic community.


Prof. Anjum Ahmed

Prof. Anjum Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at Aligarh Muslim University. Holding an impressive academic background, she possesses qualifications including B.Sc, M.Sc (Environmental Science), M.Sc (Botany), MA (English), B.Ed, M.Ed, and a Ph.D. (Educational Psychology). Dr. Ahmed has further expanded her expertise through postgraduate diplomas in Environmental & Sustainable Development and Educational Technology. Her teaching experience spans both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, showcasing a wealth of knowledge in her field. Her areas of interest include Environmental Education, Education for Peace, and Pedagogy of Sciences. Passionate about value-added courses, Dr. Ahmed actively teaches subjects like Gender and School, Population Education, and Art and Creative expressions. She has an extensive academic portfolio, including 28 research articles, nine published psychological tools, and two edited books. Her research contributions include eight research papers focused on the COVID-19 pandemic. She has recently worked as a course co-coordinator and organized 10-day workshop on the theme Qualitative Research Methodology with 21st Century Research Skills funded by ICSSR. Moreover, Dr Ahmed has also developed four modules for the SWAYAM platform. She has served regularly as a resource person at UGC Human Resource Development Centre AMU, Aligarh. Dr. Anjum Ahmed continues to inspire and innovate in the field of education, dedicating herself to shaping the future of education through her scholarly contributions, innovative teaching, and unwavering commitment to empowering learners.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: 24 October 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 6 assignments out of the total 8 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup. It will have the logos of INI and AMU.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
