ABOUT THE COURSE:
Persian is one of the living, sweet and most popular languages of the world. It has vast literature which is very rich in thoughts and contents and covers almost all the branches of knowledge particularly history of Medieval India. A large number of rare manuscripts are preserved in the Oriental Libraries and archives.The aim of this course is to provide in depth the knowledge of Persian grammar to students. It covers areas like Noun, Pronoun Adjective, Tenses and other forms of Persian Grammar so that the students would be familiar with the overall development of Persian literature. This course will also help the students in understanding of various acts related to Persian literature, Indian culture and Indian history.

Week 1: Introduction of Persian Language, Persian Alphabets, Persian Numbers, Days, months, seasons, Singular, Plural, Synonyms, Antonyms etc. Persian vocabulary and its usage.
Week 2: Ism (Noun) and its kinds-Ism Zaat, Ism Sifat, Marfa (Ism Khas) and its kinds, Pronoun (Zameer) and its kinds, Muzaaf and Muzaaf Ilaih etc.
Week 3: Nakera (Ism Aam) and its kinds, Masdar, Fel and its kinds.
Week 4: Fel (Tense) and its kinds-Maazi Maroof (Past), Maazi Mutlaq Maroof, Maazi Qareeb Maroof. 
Week 5: Maazi Bayeed Maroof, Maazi Istamrari Maroof / Natamaam, Maazi Ehtamali / Shakkiya Maroof, Maazi Tamannai / Shartiya Maroof, Muzare, Haal, (Present), Mustaqbil (Future) Amr, Nehi 
Week 6: Maazi Mutlaq Majhul, Maazi Qareeb Majhul, Maazi Bayeed Majhul, Maazi Istamrari Majhul / Natamaam, Maazi Ehtamali / Shakkiya Majhul, Maazi Tamanai / Shartiya Majhul, Muzare, Haal, (Present), Mustaqbil (Future)
Week 7: Practice of Translation from Urdu into Persian from Maazi Mutlaq, Maazi Qarib, Maazi Baeed. 
Week 8: Practice of Translation from Maazi Natamaam / Istamrari, Ehtamali and Tammanai, Fel Haal, Mustaqbil etc sentences.
Week 9: Translation of Classical Persian Prose into Urdu: Five stories from Gulistan-e-Saadi.
Week 10: Translation of Persian Prose into Urdu from Baharistan-e-Jaami.
Week 11: Akhlaq-e-Mohseni, Five Rubayat of Umar khayam.
Week 12: Translation of selected Modern Persian Prose / Poetry into Urdu, Practice of Essay / Letter Writing.

Prof. Mohammad Usman Ghani

Aligarh Muslim University
Prof. Mohammad Usman Ghani is currently a Professor in the Department of Persian, Aligarh Muslim University. His teaching experience is more than 20 years. He has supervised 9 Ph.D scholars. He has published 03 books and many research papers in various journals. He participated and presented research papers in National and International seminars.

Course certificate

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: April 25, 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.
Registration url: Announcements will be made when the registration form is open for registrations.
The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.
Please check the form for more details on the cities where the exams will be held, the conditions you agree to when you fill the form etc.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of INI and AMU.
Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
