ABOUT THE COURSE:
Concepts of Management aims at imparting understanding on nature of managerial job in terms of principles, skills and roles. It familiarizes students with the basic elements of management process. It also facilitates learners evolve an integrated perspective of the discipline of management and inter-linkages of this course with other core and functional area courses.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: 
• Students pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration or commerce

Instructor bio

Prof. Parvaiz Talib

Aligarh Muslim University
Prof. Parvaiz Talib holds MBA and Ph.D in the area of Stress Management. He has teaching experience of 35 years. His research areas are Stress Management, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management. He has guided more than 30 PhDs till date. He has published research papers in national and international journals such as Vikalpa, Indian Police Journal and International Journal of Logistics Systems & Management. His popular articles have appeared in Times of India. His special interest is in counseling and guidance of students. Prof. Talib has shouldered the responsibility of Director, Coaching and Guidance Centre of AMU ensuring success of number of students in Civil Services and Judicial Services Exams. He trains students, young teachers and corporate professionals in Communication Skills and Personality Development. He has coordinated a prestigious project of Frank & Debbie Islam Management Complex (worth 18 Crore) in AMU, built through Donors' support. This facility is now the new home of Department of Business Administration and Faculty of Management Studies and Research. Prof. Talib has served as Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research for two years and Chairperson, Department of Business Administration for three years. In his capacity as Dean, he was member of AMU's Executive Council for more than one year. He was also the Coordinator of AMU's off Campus Centers in Malappuram, Murshidabad and Kishanganj.


Dr. Zareen Husain Farooq

Dr. Zareen Husain Farooq is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Studies and Research. She gained an M.B.A. and a First Class Honours for her B.A. in Economics at Aligarh Muslim University. Her research and teaching activities mainly focus on Concepts of Management, Organizational Behavior, Change Management, Strategic Management, Leadership and Management and Islam. She also engages classes of MBA in hospital administration. Zareen concluded her doctoral thesis at the Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University. Her Ph.D. topic was 'Change Management through Balanced Scorecard Perspective: A Study of Selected Indian Organizations'. She has presented research papers in various national and international conferences including BAM 2019 held in Birmingham, U.K. and EURAM 2024 held in Bath, U.K. She holds a certificate for attending Durham Islamic Finance Summer School at Durham University Business School, U.K. On the occasion of India's G20 Presidency, Zareen has co-edited a book titled "India G20 Presidency: A Synthesis of Perspectives". The contributions in this book presents G20 in the context of healthcare challenges, climate change, global finance, supply chain, sustainability and innovation.

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: 24 October 2025 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 8 assignments out of the total 12 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

Please note that assignments encompass all types (including quizzes, programming tasks, and essay submissions) available in the specific week.

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup. It will have the logos of INI and AMU.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
