Dr. Arun Pratap Sikarwar

Coordinator

Dr. Arun Pratap Sikarwar is serving as an Associate Professor (Zoology) at the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics (DESM), NCERT, New Delhi. Before joining NCERT, he was Assistant Professor at DEI (Deemed to be University), Agra, and taught UG, PG and doctoral scholars. He has mentored scholars in neurosciences, cognitive science, and biomedical science. Dr. Arun had earned his Ph.D. (Biochemistry) at ICMR-NIRRCH & University of Mumbai; M.Sc. (Biotechnology) at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and a PGDEA (MBA in Educational Administration) from Symbiosis, Pune. After the doctoral degree, he has served as a Postdoctoral Associate (Scientist) at three institutions i.e., Brain & Mind Research Institute (BMRI) of Weill Cornell Medical College (Cornell University), Institute of Biomedicine, Aarhus University in Denmark, & at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore. Dr. Arun has delivered two TEDx talks (cognitive science topics) and is a resource person to the UGC- HRDC center of JNU, New Delhi. He enjoys a keen interest in science communication by the means of being a science expert panelist & resource person at various Hindi & English National TV news channels, Prasar Bharti/ All India Radio, & FM radios. He is a prolific author and contributes to science magazines and the national importance of newspapers. He is a quick learner and pays more interest in emotional quotient and passion quotient in his multidisciplinary career. He loves three things in his professional career i.e., learning, relearning, and unlearning and keeps striving for each day to be better, than previous.

Dr. Munindra Ruwali

DESM, NCERT, New Delhi

Dr. Munindra Ruwali is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics, NIE, NCERT, New Delhi. He has around 14 years of Research/Teaching experience. After receiving PhD Degree from CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR-IITR), Lucknow, he worked as a Marie Curie Fellow of the International Fellowship Programme of the European Commission at University of Basel, Basel, Switzerland. He has been conferred Young Scientist Awards and was also the recipient of Teachers Associateship for Research Excellence (TARE), funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India. His major research focus is in Cell and Molecular Biology with specializations in Cancer Biology, Pharmacogenetics and Molecular Toxicology. Dr. Munindra has reported an association of genetic polymorphisms with head and neck cancer in Indian population. Besides he has also performed evaluation of the Nrf2 anti-oxidant response element (ARE) pathway as a promising target for alleviating chemoresistance in treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Dr. Munindra has completed research projects, funded by government of India, focussing on cancer biology and COVID19 diagnostics. He has also filed a patent entitled “RNA extraction free method for kit development to visually detect SARS-CoV-2 and methods thereof”. He has published several research articles in national and international journals of high repute and has also published several book chapters. Currently, Dr. Munindra is also working on projects dealing with NCERT books, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), Project-based Learning Materials in Biology and Science Education with focus on content creation and pedagogy for improving learning outcomes at all stages of school education.

Course certificate

The final assessment will be conducted in the last week of the course i.e. from 24th March 2025 to 25th March 2025.
The participants will get completion certificate if they score 60% and above in the final assessment.
