Mathematics is an indispensable subject area in the school education because of its wide application in our day today activities as well as in different fields of education. The present course in Mathematics has been divided into 26 lessons/chapters from six modules namely Algebra, Commercial Mathematics, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonmetry and Statistics. Text Materials, Audio and Video programmes are provided for your better learning. The assessment has been provided you in each lesson for your self assessment purposes.
Dr. Rajendra Kumar Nayak is Assistant Director (Academic) at NIOS Headquarters for 6 years.He attained M.SC (Mathematics) from Ravenshaw University, Odisha and M.Ed from Regional Institute of Education (RIE, NCERT)-Bhubaneswar.He also attained his Ph.D in Mathematics Education from Utkal University, PGDDE (IGNOU).Previously, he worked as Lecturer in Education at Ravenshaw University, Cuttack from 2nd May,2011 to 10th July,2012;he worked as Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education at Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Bhubaneshwar from 6th July,2010 to 30th April,2011;he worked as Lecturer in Education at Army Institute of Education, Delhi Cantt, New Delhi from 1st October,2009 to 31st May,2010 and worked as Research fellow in Education Department, Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Bhubaneswar from 1st July,2008 to 30th September,2009. His areas of interest are Mathematics Education, Educational Statistics, Measurement and Evaluation, Teacher Education and Distance Education.
For Secondary Level Passing Certificate
1. In order to obtain Secondary (10th) passing certificate from NIOS, the learners are required to enroll in minimum five subjects including one or maximum two languages on SWAYAM. For examination and certification, the learners must also enroll with NIOS.
2. The admission in NIOS is done through online mode only. The learner can visit the official website of NIOS i.e., www.nios.ac.in or www.sdmis.nios.ac.in .The learner can also visit the Regional Centre or nearest AI (study Centre) or designated Common Service Centre (CSC), the list of which is available on the website and take help for online admission in NIOS.
