Dr. Anita Priyadarshini

Indira Gandhi National Open University

Dr. Anita Priyadarshini is presently working as Associate Professor in Distance Education at Indira Gandhi National Open University. She has working experience of more than 32 years in the field of open and distance learning, adult education, equivalency programmes, and lifelong learning. She has worked extensively at policy and field level providing academic and technical support to open & distance learning programmes. She has designed and developed self learning materials in print and electronic formats from literacy upto post graduate levels. Dr Priyadarshini developed the Open Basic Education (OBE) programme which launched primary and upper primary schooling through open and distance learning in India. The path breaking OBE programme was adopted by the National Literacy Mission Scheme, Government of India as an Equivalency Programmes for out-of-school persons. Dr. Priyadarshini has conducted research and programme evaluation studies, trainings, and authored studies on various related issues. Dr Priyadarshini is consulted by various governments, non-governmental organizations and international agencies.At IGNOU, Dr Priyadarshini is the Programme Coordinator for the Masters in Distance Education (MADE).
