This course is an Introductory course on Human trafficking.

The objectives of this course are:

  • to bring about awareness and provide comprehensive understanding about   human trafficking amongst the masses;
  • develop functional understanding and coordination among learners about various stakeholders / agencies associated with the process of human trafficking directly or indirectly;
  • prepare well informed and updated professional  working in the government agencies ,Anti-Human Trafficking Units,  civil society organization, ,Para military and Military personnel’s, doctors, psychologists, lawyers ,judges and corporate sectors so that they are able to prevent, rehabilitate and re-integrate trafficked victims;  
  • To educate and motivate the learners about establishing Human Trafficking Clubs in their family groups, society and institutions and create models of Community Policing in their Area.

Instructor bio

Dr. Mansi Sharma

Indira Gandhi National Open University
Dr. Mansi Sharma is an Assistant Professor in School of Law, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Programme Coordinator of Certificate in Anti Human Trafficking and Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice Programmes offered by SOL, IGNOU. She has 14 years of teaching experience.

She holds BA LLB (Hons) from University of Lucknow with distinction in 11 subjects and LL.M. from Banaras Hindu University. She worked as Guest Lecturer in Lucknow University from 2006- 2008. She did her  LLD in Law from University of Lucknow. She cleared the UGC Net Examination in 2006. Dr. Sharma specializes in Human Rights, Human Trafficking, Environmental Law and Criminal Law. She has also been awarded with the President Award and Governor Award as a guide at school level.
