Accounting helps the decision-makers of a company to make effective choices, by providing information on the financial status of the business. Today, accounting is used by everyone and a good understanding of it is beneficial to all. Accountancy act as a language of finance. To understand accounting efficiently it is important to understand the different aspects of accounting i.e. Economic Events, Identification, Measurement, Recording, and Communication, and Interested Users of Information. The course mainly focuses on the theoretical framework of Accounting, Accounting Process, Preparation of Financial Statements, Understanding and Interpretation of Financial Statements that helps the different stakeholder to understand and interpret the financial position of business in a very transparent and fair manner. This course also focuses on the emerging need of computer accounting in the present business environment as the use of technology helps in accuracy, reliability and security of financial information on the basis of which policy decisions are taken.

Dr. N.Rajendra Prasad

Indira Gandhi National Open University
Dr. N.Rajendra Prasad is currently Assistant Professor in the School of Management studies in the discipline of Commerce, Indira Gandhi National Open University New Delhi. He has done B. Com from Osmania University. He is a Post Graduate in Commerce and obtained his Ph.D degree from the Department of Commerce, Osmania University. He was a Project Fellow under UGC Major Research Project titled “Financing Cost and Efficient Analysis of Public Hospitals in Andhra Pradesh”. He was ICSSR Doctoral Research Fellow. He is a Life Member of Indian Commerce Association and Telangana Commerce Association. Dr. Prasad has a brilliant academic record. He has been a Guest Faculty in various Colleges and academic institutions. His academic, organizing abilities are well known to the students of Osmania University. He has a number of publications in National and International journals of repute. He is deeply committed personality to the academics. During his PhD tenure he is considered as one of the committed and passionate research scholars of the Department of Commerce, Osmania University. He has also received many best research paper awards at various conferences. He has published many articles in prominent dailies of the Telangana State on different issues such as educational and social issues.
