As an owner or manager of a business enterprise you need to manage money and take decisions on the basis of accurate estimates which require everyone to know mathematics and statistics. This course is divided into two parts Business Mathematics (Part A) and Statistics (Part B). Part A enables the students to know the financial formulas, fractions; measurements involved in interest calculation, hire rates, salary calculation, tax calculation etc. which help complete business tasks efficiently. Whereas, Part B enables the learners to make various kinds of analysis on the basis of accurate estimates that helps a business to deal with uncertainties by forecasting seasonal, cyclic and general economic fluctuations.

Indira Gandhi National Open University
Instructor has 15 years of experience in teaching, training, research and consultancy. Special area of interest is entrepreneurship. She has contributed in the area of marketing by way of teaching, writing research papers and writing self instructional reading materials. She has conducted several National/International training programmes for teachers and trainers which includes two weeks National Faculty Development Program (FDP) in entrepreneurship supported by NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and six weeks International Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in Entrepreneurship, sponsored by Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi as Programme Director . Gave consultancy to MSMEs as an Enterprise Development Specialist, Cluster Development Initiatives, IL&FS.
Started teaching career from December, 1984 as a Lecturer in conventional university, taught UG Courses 14 years 6 months. Joined in IGNOU in May, 1999. Presently, having 34 years 6 months teaching experience. Published 15 articles /research papers, edited 35 units, written one book and seven units, revised 36 units, developed programme guide for M.Com (IDT), guided one Ph.D. and one M.Phil, supervising 5 Ph.Ds and 1 M.Phil. Attended 16 Seminars/Conferences, attended 11 Training Programmes as Resource Person, Member of about 60 Committees. Worked as Academic Coordinator, NSS Programme Officer, Examination Incharge, Member of admission, Student Grievances, Disciplinary and Sports & Cultural Committees in the previous institutions. In IGNOU worked as Director, Academic Coordination Division and presently working as Registrar, MPDD (additional Charge). Active involvement in Community/Corporate activities during the entire service there is no cases/enquiry pending or contemplated. Passionate to bring the change/innovations for further improvement wherever I get the opportunity to deliver the duties and responsibilities. I always pro-active to take up the challenges for betterment of the institution.
