Dr. Sonia Sharma

Indira Gandhi National Open University

Dr. Sonia Sharma is an alumnus of University of Jammu. She has done Masters in Tourism Management (MTM) from IGNOU & Ph.D in Tourism from University of Jammu. She has also qualified UGC-NET in Tourism.

She has worked as Academic Consultant of Tourism & Hospitality Studies in Uttrakhand Open University, Haldwani from 2006 to 2008. She has been associated in designing the curriculum and development of study material for Bachelor in Tourism Studies & Hotel Management Programmes of Uttrakhand Open University. She was Director I/c of School of Tourism & Hospitality Services Sectoral Management (SOTHSSM), IGNOU from December 2008 to July 2012.

She has to her credit several Research Papers. She has specialized in the field of Ecotourism, Sustainable tourism and destination planning.
