¡Bienvenidos y bienvenidas!
This course aims to develop students’ language proficiency at a higher level by building on the skills acquired in the BSL001 course (equivalent to an A1 level). The objectives are to consolidate the knowledge acquired in the previous course and to broaden students’ foundation in Spanish.
In this course, students will be able to improve their linguistic skills as well as reinforce and expand their general knowledge about the cultural diversity and history of Spain and Latin America by exploring different aspects of Hispanic cultures. This course consists of 80 video sequences distributed over 16 weeks. The dynamic and interactive video sequences will help students to develop the ability to understand and speak Spanish in diverse contexts.
Based on the guidelines set out by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL, European Council), this course should lead students towards more independent and autonomous use of the language, equivalent to an A2 level. The course will focus on all four core competencies of language learning: reading, writing, speaking and comprehension, as well as socio-cultural competence in the target language that will enable you to communicate effectively with the Spanish-speaking world in tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
This course uses self-learning reference material, grammatical explanations, glossaries, didactic activities, cultural notes, etc. in the form of an e-book. Students will be able to monitor their progress autonomously by doing several self-evaluation assessments and a final test.
