Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) play an important role in various developmental issues across the states in India. As of now there are 3.2 million registered NGOs operating in India. In view of the increasingly important role of the voluntary sector in the developmental process, all levels of policy making have stressed the importance of building its capacity to face the developmental challenge.
The emphasis of this course is to equip the learners with the Management Functions with special emphasis on NGOs. It tries to cover various aspects related to the administration of NGOs. The course covers different procedures for formation of NGOs including legal and office procedures which are required for proper functioning of NGOs. The course also discusses various marketing aspects including social marketing. The aspects related to project management have also been discussed as they play an important role in the functioning of NGOs. The course also gives an idea about fund raising and income generation and how the funds can be utilized in an optimum manner. Overall the course gives a thorough knowledge of how NGOs should function.

Dr Neeti Agrawal is a Professor of Management in IGNOU, New Delhi. She has 22years of teaching and research experience with 5 years in conventional teaching and 17 years in the ODL system. Her areas of interest include International Strategic Management, International Business, Strategic Finance.
