The growth and development of technology has impacted the educational processes across the different modes of education such as face to face, open and distance learning (ODL), online education and blended learning. There are various technologies that can be integrated in the educational processes that includes teaching, learning, assessment, management of educational institutions and professional development. Because of that many a times, the stakeholders of education are confused to select an appropriate technologies for teaching-learning. Selection of appropriate technologies requires deeper understanding and knowledge in technology, pedagogy and content or activity going to be performed. This course would help learners to develop an understanding about the technologies available and select an appropriate technologies for various educational purposes.

Dr. Ajith Kumar. C

Indira Gandhi National Open University
Dr. Ajith Kumar is  serving as Assistant Professor in the School of Education, IGNOU, New Delhi since 2011. He has completed M.Ed. in Science Education (Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala), M.Sc. Physics & M.Phil. Education (University of Calicut, Kerala),   PGDDE (IGNOU,  New Delhi) and Ph.D. from IASE, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He started career as Higher Secondary Teacher in Physics, later shifted to Teacher Training and has  more than 16 years of experience in teaching. He has published edited books and more than 50 publications that includes research papers and articles in national and international journals, and units written for ODL institutions. He has presented papers in various seminars and conferences. His areas of interest are educational technology, statistics in research,science education, open and distance learning. He has delivered lectures in national and international seminars and also acted as resource person in various workshops. Also he has contributed video lectures for MOOC programmes,  developed e-content for various courses and delivered more than 70 live lectures through Radio and Television (Gyandarshan).
At present he is the coordinator of Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Technology (PGDET) programme offered by School of Education, IGNOU.
