Instructor bio

Dr. R. N. Patel did his Ph.D. in the area of power systems from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India, in the year 2003. He received his M. Tech. from IIT Delhi, and graduate degree in electrical engineering from SGSITS, Indore. His manifold fields of interest include programming and optimization, application of artificial intelligence techniques, power system stability and renewable energy systems. Dr. Patel has served at various faculty positions at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani (year 2003), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee (year 2003 to 2006), Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus (SSTC), Bhilai (year 2006 to 2018), and NIT Raipur (year 2018 to 2022). Currently, he is serving as Professor on Deputation at Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai (CG), India. He has presented his research at various international journals & conferences and organized many tutorials, workshops and conferences. Dr. Patel is a recipient of the prestigious 'Career Award for Young Teachers' from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). New Delhi. He has also authored a Book, ‘Programming in MATLAB- A Problem Solving Approach’ with Pearson in the year 2014. The work was supported by Mathworks, Inc., USA under its Book Support Program.

Dr. Lalit Kumar Sahu received his M.Tech degree from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (M.A.N.I.T), Bhopal in 2010 with first rank. He obtained Ph.D from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (M.A.N.I.T), Bhopal in 2016. He was a recipient of MHRD fellowship for his MTech and PhD course. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at, National Institute of Technology, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, since 2013. As an Assistant Professor, he is responsible for teaching UG and PG courses, researching in the area of Power Electronic Converters and their applications in Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy Systems. His research interests mainly include analysis, design, and development of Multiple Input DC/DC converter, Multilevel Inverter, Power Electronics Interface for Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Renewable energy system, Hybrid Energy System etc.  He has published more than 60 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. He has been awarded three projects from the Science and Engineering research board (SERB) (DST) worth more than one crore. Apart from teaching and research, he is also very active in innovation and entrepreneurial activities and a member of the Institute Innovation Council. He is actively involved in nurturing of budding start-ups and instrumental in mentoring and judging in various hackathons organized by MIC, MoE, New Delhi.
