Early childhood education is the foundation upon which the base of education and the whole system of education of any country are erected. If we need a strong education system, we need to design a strong and scientific early childhood education system. Today’s child is the asset for future. The NEP 2020 has also put tremendous importance on the foundation of these children’s education. The recommended 5+3+3+4 structure of school education includes the Foundational Stage (5) which suggest school education for ages 3 to 8 years. NEP 2020 put emphasis on Early Childhood Care and Education or ECCE for ages 3 to 6 where it suggests for universal access to high qualify ECCE across the country in phased manner. Moreover, NEP2020 has targeted to get Early childhood care and education a complete National mission on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy to be set up to focus on foundational literacy. It is envisaged in the NEP 2020 that prior to the age of 5 every child will move to a “Preparatory Class” or “Balavatika” (that is, before Class 1), which should have an ECCE-qualified teacher. To ensure the quality of early childhood education, it is utmost necessary to provide appropriate and adequate training to the teachers of this phase.
Early childhood Care and Education through SWAYAM Platform will help the teachers an opportunity to orient themselves and strengthen their capacity to function in the field of early childhood education
