Instructor bio

Dr. N.Ramya

Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi

Dr. N.Ramya is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi since August 2009.  She is a trained Psychiatric Social Worker. She did her M.Phil degree in Psychiatric Social Work from NIMHANS, Bangalore. She holds Ph.D degree in Social Work from Bharathidasan University.

Prior to joining IGNOU, she worked as Lecturer in Thanthai Hans Rover College, Perambalur, and Bharathidasan University, Trichy, Tamil Nadu. She had an experience of handling National Mental Health Programme in Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a Consultant. She has published many articles in National and International Journals and presented papers in National Seminars and International Conferences. Presently, she is the coordinator for MSW Counselling and PGDCOUN (Post graduate diploma in social work counselling) ODL programmes in the School of Social Work. Her research interests are Student Mental Health of Marginalized Sections, Casework, Counselling, Community health, Contemporary Social Work Methods and Open Distance Learning. She is also a life member of National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI), and Indian Society of Professional Social Work (ISPSW).

The online registration form has to be filled, and the certification exam fee needs to be paid.


CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE


30 Marks will be allocated for Internal Assessment (Final Quiz- Mandatory) which will be available at the end of the course and 70 Marks will be allocated for end term proctored examination.


A  minimum of 40% passing marks (i.e. at-least 12 marks in Internal Assessment (Final Quiz- Mandatory) & 28 Marks in external proctored examination) will be required for being eligible for SWAYAM Certificate.
