    The Commonly used instructional methods in Indian educational institutes are lecture, demonstrations, projects, laboratory, field experiences etc. These methods offer very limited opportunities for catering to individual student’s preferences, learning styles for achieving the intended the programme level outcomes for making a person employable.
A large number of other instructional methods, termed as “Advanced Instructional Method” in this course, enable learning in higher level cognitive domain and in affective domain through group based techniques, use of creativity techniques and offer opportunity of active learning through collaboration. The information and communication technology facilitates not only the use of group work and techniques for immediate   learner’s responses of remotely located learners in web based modes but also offers customized learning and standardized learning resources to individual both synchronously and asynchronously. Recently virtual graphical learning environments have been introduced for learning of complex concepts through AR/VR technology. This course deals with advanced methods that offer opportunities as described above. 
The selection of instructional method(s) depends on factors such as learning outcomes, target group characteristics, time available and administrative factors.  ICT based methods are becoming more and more popular as the IT infrastructure in becoming stronger and cost effective and very critically restricting conditions in the recent pandemic situation. This course is intended to provide you an exposure to various advanced instructional methods through several video lectures, video demonstrations, text content, discussion forum, assignments, and self-assessment tools. Summative assessment will make you earn the credit and course completion certificate.  The learning effort required by the teachers for this course is 20 hours, which will include studying the e-content and related videos, completing activities and assignments. The final Assessment and certification will be based attainment in on Internal Assessment (30%) and proctored examination ( 70%).

THE COORDINATOR 

     Mrs. Asmita A.  Khajanchee, Associate Professor is a post graduate electrical engineer and is working in the area of Electronic Media Development and related research for the last 26 years at NITTTR Bhopal. She is trained in media development and has contributed in the development of multimedia content for education and training of various target groups.  Her overall experience of 34 years includes teaching electrical engineering subjects at UG/PG level and training technical teachers through Induction training courses and development of variety of video programmes for education, training, information dissemination, MOOCS videos production projects management at NITTTR Bhopal including this course etc.  She is practicing different teaching methods classroom based and ICT based. Her experience in media design includes development of different formats of videos programmes, 2D animation, e-content development etc. for SWAYAM MOOCS, AICTE NITTT courses, ARPIT -NRC Courses and NITTTR training Courses.  She is member of professional bodies  IEEE Education Society, IEEE Industry applications society, IEEE Computer Society and  ISTE, India.

 Dr. Sharad K. Pradhan (PhD) is mechanical engineer and is working as Associate Professor (NITTTR), Bhopal under the aegis of Government of India. He has coordinated and organized more than 300 short term courses and workshops for Technical teachers of Polytechnic and Engineering colleges of our country in ‘Content based areas’ like Finite Element Methods, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Analysis, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Applied Mechanics, Engineering Graphics and ‘Technical Education based areas’ like, Basic and Advanced Teaching Methods, Student Evaluation and Assessment, Accreditation, Modern Lab Practices, Curriculum Analysis, Development and Implementation etc. He has developed Outcome Based Curriculum for four states of the country for Diploma and Post diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Allied disciplines. He is a member of NBA Evaluation Team for Mechanical Engineering UG and Diploma Programs. He has developed many Modules, Handouts, Exercise books, Presentations and Videos on different topics related to Mechanical Engineering, Technical Education (NITTT-AICTE MOOCs) and Accreditation for UG & PG programs (SWAYAM-MOOCs). He has published four patents.







Dr. K James Mathai, Associate Professor, Associate Professor, Department of Media Research & Development Education NITTTR Bhopal, He holds Ph. D. degree in Technical Education along with M. Tech. Ed., M. Sc. Diploma in Computer Programming. He has 35 years of professional and teaching experience.  He has guided 15 Post Graduate level dissertations [MTech.Ed./M.Tech. (CTA)] and projects(M.Sc./MCA) and also co-guide of Ph.D. Scholar in the area of MOOCs. He has contributed for World Bank Assisted Project, Technical Cooperation Scheme under Colombo Plan project, DANIDA Project, UNESCO project, Indian Cement Industry, Indian Railways etc. as Teachers’ Trainers to design and conduct content updating programmes in Computer education/ Education Technology and multimedia package development etc. Principal Investigator (PI)/ Coordinator of Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) on ‘ICT for Teaching and Learning’, -A Joint Project launched by the AICTE & MHRD GOI, Delhi, offered to in-service and aspiring teacher of the Country India from 2018 onwards and was also offered to the teachers of Country Ghana. Dr. Mathai has trained more than 15460 teachers in India.






  Dr. B. L. Gupta (Ph.D.) is a civil engineer and working as Professor in Department of Education Management and Dean Academics and Research at National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Bhopal. Dr. Gupta has 38 years of experience in the field of education, teaching, training, development, extension, consultancy and research. He has conducted more than 700 training programmes for different clients. He has guided more than 20 theses in the field of education, training, management and extension. He has published more than 70 papers in National and International Journals. He has authored 22 reference books in various areas of education, management and development. Dr. Gupta has coordinated number of training programmes in institutional building, Quality in technical education, team building, leadership development, Accreditation. He is Principal investigator of research project on Institutional Autonomy undertaken by NITTTR Bhopal and coordinator of 8 weeks MOOCs course on “Accreditation of Diploma Engineering Programmes.

    Dr. J.P. Tegar (Ph.D.)  is a civil engineer and working as Professor in Department of Curriculum Development and Assessment Education and actively involved in M.Tech. /M.E. programmes in the civil engineering areas, induction training of Teachers of Engineering colleges and Polytechnics and development of curriculum of Diploma level programmes, especially in civil engineering. His research areas are Geotechnical Engineering, curriculum and assessment. On the part of Academic publication, he has in credits of about 30+ papers publication at national and international journals and conferences. One research-based patent in civil engineering is in progress. Dr. Tegar is currently Life member and fellow members of eight professional bodies of civil engineering and technical education and training\.


 



  Dr. Sandip S. Kedar is currently working as Associate Professor and Heading the Department of Media Research & Development Education in the NITTTR, Bhopal. He holds Ph. D. degree in Technical Education along with M. Tech. Ed., B. E. Electronics & Power Engineering, He has 32 years of teaching experience in technical education, technical teacher teaching, and training of trainers, video production and direction, digital media development, curriculum development, MOOCs production, research and consultancy. He has published several research papers in the area of media and multimedia and has produced number of studio-based and documentary video programmes, developed multimedia packages, e-contents, animations for various target groups. He is a Coordinator for AICTE NITTT Module 4 on Instructional Planning and Delivery. His prominent contributions in recent past also include video production and e-content development of AICTE NITTT Module 2 on Professional Ethics and Sustainability and production of videos for more than 8 MOOCs developed by NITTTR Bhopal including this MOOC. He served Ministry of Education, Botswana (Africa) for two and half years at Tonota College of Education. In recent past, he has coordinated number of training programmes under Technical Cooperation Scheme (TCS) of Colombo Plan and under Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation Scheme (ITEC) of MEA, Govt. of India, for participants from various Countries at NITTTR Bhopal.

  • The Registration fee for the proctored exam is Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
  • Date and Time of Exams: 2nd Saturday & Sunday of May (tentative); 
  • Announcements will be made when the exam registration form is open for registrations along with the url
  • The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE:
  • Internal assignment score = 30%, The average of best 3 assignments out of the total assignments given in the course.
  • Exam score = 70% of the proctored exam score out of 100
  • Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score
  • You will be eligible for a certificate only if average assignment score >=10/30 and exam score >= 30/70
  • Certificate will have your name, photograph, roll number and the percentage of score in the final exam. It will have the logos of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development), SWAYAM and NITTTR. 
  • Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
