With the advent of Internet and world wide web (www), the access to information has become very easy and the entire world is moving towards digitization. Twenty first century students learn in a global classroom and not necessarily within four walls. They are more inclined to find information by accessing the Internet through mobile phones and computers, or chatting with friends on a social networking site. The advancements in technology and the plethora of powerful and innovative digital devices and tools have a great potential to improve educational outcomes.  Educators must understand that the use of digital content and devices will improve teaching and learning and thus enhance educational opportunities and benefit the Millennial. This course on E-content development is meant to understand the meaning and standards of E-content, learning objects, designing and development of digital resources for teaching and learning. Thus this course aims in providing the knowledge and skill for teachers to cater to present day learners and their learning styles.

Total study time anticipated is between 40 - 45 hours in 8 weeks (including watching video films) with equivalence to 3 credits.

Dr. P. Malliga is working as Associate Professor and Head in charge of Centre for Educational Media and Technology, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Taramani, Chennai. She has got 28 years of experience in Teaching, Research and Development. Her areas of interest in training include Databases, ICT enabled learning and Teaching, Instructional Design, E-learning and Open Education. She has published 20 research papers in refereed National / International journals and Conferences in the area of Computer Science and Engineering, ICT based Education and Training, Educational Technology. She has contributed to leading consultancy projects for producing multimedia instructional materials on Computer Networks; producing 10 CBTs on 10 different subjects of Computer Science; producing studio based video lectures on Computer Science subjects for satellite based education through Gyandarshan. She has authored a self Instructional Material (Course Material) on Instructional Design for E-learning for MCA Distance Mode program for Anna University. She has conducted around 350 courses for Polytechnic and Engineering College teachers in the areas of Computer Science and Educational Technology. She has trained around 400 Overseas Teachers in the areas of Information Technology, Educational Video Production and Educational Media Production for E-learning.









Felix Arokiya Raj is an Assistant Professor of Centre for Educational Media and Technology at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Chennai. His areas of interest are Educational Technology, Learning Analytics, MOOCs and Open Educational Resource (OER). He has participated as an instructor as well as a designer for two SWAYAM MOOCs, titled, “E-Content development” and “OER for Empowering Teachers” in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

If You wish to Get certified on this course you must register and write the proctored exam conducted by SWAYAM in person at any of the designated exam centers.
  • The Registration fee for the proctored exam is Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
  • Date and Time of Exams: 2nd Saturday & Sunday of November (Tentative)
  • Announcements will be made when the exam registration form is open for registrations along with the url
  • The online registration form has to be filled and the certification exam fee needs to be paid. More details will be made available when the exam registration form is published. If there are any changes, it will be mentioned then.
  • Please check the form for more details on the cities where the exams will be held, the conditions you agree to when you fill the form etc.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE:
  • Internal assignment score = 30%, The average of best 3 assignments out of the total assignments given in the course.
  • Exam score = 70% of the proctored exam score out of 100
  • Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score
  • You will be eligible for a certificate only if average assignment score >=10/30 and exam score >= 30/70
  • Certificate will have your name, photograph, roll number and the percentage of score in the final exam. It will have the logos of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development), SWAYAM and NITTTR. 
  • Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
